Ajmer: Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin wants India coach Greg Chappell to stop carrying out any more experimentations in the team with the World Cup just a few months away.

"Mohammed Kaif, Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the finest batsmen in the Indian team and they should play in at the number 2, 3 and 4 postions," Azhar said.

The Hyderabad-based player, serving a life ban for his alleged involvement in the match-fixing scandal in 2000, was here to offer a chadar at the holy tomb of Khawja Moinuddin Chishti.

He appreciated the BCCI's move to felicitate former Indian captains, including himself.

Azhar also praised the training conducted in National Table Tennis Academy after he was felicitated by Indian Table Tennis Federation General Secretary Moolchand Chauhan.

It is always Openers , 1, 2, 3 and goes on till 9 ..What he means is batsmen coming in at the fall of the 2nd wicket

So not to worry...no flood gates will open ...and Azhar anyways does not have the unbridled right to experiment unlike.....

Well most of the times, no. 3 is referred to as the batsman coming in at fall of 1 wkt so no.2 can sound like the opener
Azhar obvioulsy can't mean that though- anyway everyone is joining the criticize "GC bandwagon" right now- nice time to get some sound bytes in

No 2 definitely does not mean the one-down batsma, at least in conventional usage.

I can understand why Azhar doesnt want experimentation. I mean, werent there different mini-betting games within the main? Such as, who will bat next after the fall of the 3rd wicket, how many runs the batsman coming in at No4 will make etc. Now, with GC's experimentation, it is much more difficult for Azhar and his friends Dawood, Abu Salem etc to predict this accurately.

i dunno why these stupid media hounds follow the guy around. leave him alone, his words mean nothing anymore.
and if azhar's comments amount to "chappell-bashing" then i must also be a chappell-basher. way to sensationalize.

Well, Azhar is obviously upset. He must have found that with India doing things more consistently (both winning when they were winning and now losing) people who bet are actually collecting. Dawood bahut naraaz hoga ... so he has to be upset.

Its sad that now we are caring what gali ka chor uchakkas and Terrorists think!
