Bombay Duck on Fire
« on: May 20, 2006, 04:40:26 PM »

I am posting this while it is still too good to be true. Ajit Agarkar has, for the moment, a bowling analysis of 7-2-5-1. I am not watching the match today. Will my friends in the DG explain how this miracle is taking place? Is Agarkar finally living up to his considerable natural talents? Is he bowling left handed spin? Was Lara batting right handed?

Anyway, if AA finally, after a decade of investment, turns out to be what people always expected from him, it will be a matter to rejoice over!

ball was swinging around, he stuck to an immaculate line n length. great to see. agarkar is the next mcgrath :D
clearly he likes opening the bowling. no extras, and dead accurate. he got the deadly gayle early too.

I am not surprised. The moment the burden of "lead bowler" was no longer on him, he improved a lot. I am not sure what you mean by
"what people always expected from him" :D but I always expected him to be a reasonably good third bowling option.

Good swing - that he usually gets.

The difference: L/L - it was McGrath like line and length - unbelievable.

If he can maintain that discipline - he will  become very economical in ODI's.

But, alas, we know he has two sides - good twin and evil twin - today very good twin.
I am hoping evil twin does not show up in this series!

Gilly, Punter, Symo and Hussey will bring out the evil twin in all our bowlers  ;) ;)

I think this was an exception. He usually bowls worse with the new ball (usually tries to do too much).

Hey !! even Kaif scored only 4.....He will definitely follow this up with a 30 or 40 in the next 8 or 10 matches.......That does not mean that he is not a "cog in the wheel" for India's WC aspirations....

We have a "boon'...a "cog".....all we need is the 'Cup'   :)

AA the four an over guaranteed bolwer has made me eat my words. well temporarily atleast. good to see that after a million games he has realsied that he can bowl 6 good balls in an over and nobody will castrate him.
kaif: reminds me of about a year and a half ago. a certain left handed player used to justify his selection saying " see i got a 50 odd and won us a game 20 matches ago. i am a match winner" . that player was dropped and today is fighting back. maybe kaif needs to rest his body from playing so uch cricket. but wait. when you score 37 runs in 10 innings, something a normal player strives to do in 1 do you need rest? kaif and VS seem to. get him out and put either SG or VvS in his place. hell if you dont like SG or Vvs get someone else in there. but please drop kaif. i donmt care how much of a winner he is. and while you are buying his ticket home get one for yalalalalal venuhopeless rao too.

Beats me why Rao is in the team...He has set neither the Thames or the Yarra or any other river that is worth its name on fire....And if he is going to get at the most one game in 10 ....whose place is he eating up ?????!!!!!
