Virender Sehwag has got a full new head of hair! Ok, ok, this is a wig for a new Pepsi commercial, but Veeru is so excited that he just might go for an actual transplant.

Delighted with this new look, the cricketer has set the photo as his mobile screensaver. "The experience of sporting a fresh hairdo was great fun," says Sehwag. "The look is youthful and irreverent. This commercial has given me a chance to try something new. I hope everyone will like this new look."

Wife Aarti is pleased for Sehwag. "He loved it - everyone wants to have a cool hairstyle. I like Sehwag with any hairdo, but yes, if he actually gets it [a transplant] done, then nothing like it."

The ad shows how some people try to use connections to get ahead in life as opposed to a sincere person banking on talent.

"This theme and my look reminded me of my early days," Sehwag says, "when I was trying to realise my dream of being in the Indian cricket team. Connections might work in some cases, but not in cricket. I was selected as I had the thirst to succeed."

Stylist Divya Anand says, "The ad is cheeky, with the brand ambassadors positioned to connect with the youth. We not only wanted Virender to relive his days of struggle, but also wanted to show him in an avatar people have never seen before."

Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that involves moving individual hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to bald or balding parts (the recipient site). It is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness, whereby grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding are transplanted to bald scalp. However, it is also used to restore eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, chest hair, and pubic hair and to fill in scars caused by accidents or surgery such as face-lifts and previous hair transplants. Hair transplantation differs from skin grafting in that grafts contain almost all of the epidermis and dermis surrounding the hair follicle, and many tiny grafts are transplanted rather than a single strip of skin.

In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth.
