Here are some links that defines the man. A relentless, ruthless pursuit of victory backed by supreme self confidence. In the process, he built a team around him that built the winning car for him. He always demanded the very best and gave more than 100% be it practice or the field.

Onboard with Schumi at Monaco, on the street

And finally, the last race ; After having been forced to start in the back of the grid due to a suspension failure, he overtakes 5 cars before a puncture and 7 more after that. Has some incredibel wheel to wheel moments.

No doubt he is a great, But I will always remember him for crashing (wantedly) into Hill in the (Silverstone??) grand prix . IMO, He did not deserve that year's championship.

Yes, Poondu, for a man of his abilities he didnt need to do that. That will always remain a black mark in his career. It doesnt pay to be a nice guy on the track however.

One more. This time upclose where he chases, catches and overtakes Raikonen in Brazil 2006 his last race. Breathtaking stuff. It is truly scary to look at the levels of concentration that is required in F1.

India agree deal on Grand Prix

Ecclestone has been keen to take Formula One to India

The Indian Olympic Association says it has reached an agreement with Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone to stage a Grand Prix in New Delhi from 2009. IOA president Suresh Kalmadi said the agreement was preliminary and conditional on having a venue approved.

The city does not currently have a racing track.

"We have received a letter in this regard from Bernie Ecclestone," said Kalmadi. "The IOA will be the promoter, the first event will be held in 2009."

He added: We are looking to identify suitable land for a world-class track. It's a tough task, but we're hoping to meet the challenge."

Should the Indian GP organisers meet the demands of Formula One Management (FOM), the race would become the fifth new venue to be added to the calendar in recent months.

Valencia and Singapore will hold races for the first time in 2008, while Abu Dhabi will enter the fray in 2009 followed by South Korea a year later.

There is no indication at present which of the current GPs would make way for the new events.

New Delhi is preparing to host the Commonwealth Games in 2010.

The city, however, lost its bid to organise the 2014 Asian Games and opted out of the race for the 2016 Olympics.

Chandrababu Naidu tried so much to get a GP to Hyd. Now they are simply playing politics by getting it to Delhi. Every other major sporting event has been awarded to Delhi with the exception being Cricket.
