Tendulkar summoned at BCCI review meetingAds By Google

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked Sachin Tendulkar to appear before its special review meeting in Mumbai on Friday.

Tendulkar has been asked to speak in the presence of coach Greg Chappell, who quit on Wednesday, said a TV news channel quoting a close BCCI source.

This recent development takes place after Tendulkar hit out at the comments attributed to Chappell Wednesday, on the attitude of some of the senior team members after India suffered a first round exit from the World Cup, saying "I'm shattered beyond words".

"I've given my heart and my soul for 17 years. No coach had mentioned even in passing that my attitude was not correct. Cricket has been my life for all these years and will always be," Tendulkar was quoted as saying by The Times of India.

"I am shattered beyond words and I feel helpless. I've never felt so bad in my entire career," he added.

The BCCI has called a special two-day review meeting starting Friday at the Wankhede Stadium to introspect India's poor performance in the World Cup and also chalk out a future course of action for the game in the country.

India crashed out of the World Cup after losing two of the three group matches in the first round to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The first day of the two-day sitting would be a fact-finding mission with Chappell, captain Rahul Dravid, manager Sanjay Jagdale and chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar. The BCCI will also meet former Indian captains to seek their suggestion to improve cricket in the country.

Both Chappell and Jagdale are to submit their tour reports to the BCCI during the meeting.

how much do you want to bet that SRT would utter but a whimper. The guts required to stand up to the opposition doesnt exist in SRT as witnessed by him getting out in any match that matters.

GC showed his guts when he took on SG when the said man was embedded in the system supported from top to bottom in the BCCI.

I think SRT would just say 'we got along fine' in his whiney little voice and then go hide behind anjali's dupatta!
