Movies on DVD - Recommendations..
« on: March 26, 2007, 08:02:50 AM »
I dont know if it was a desire to rebound from our loss Friday.. but I really enjoyed couple of movies I rented this weekend.

Bunty aur Babli - Good timepass and has some hilarious moments (specially the Taj sale skit).

Dhoom 2 - All out non-stop dance & action. Very entertaining. Man, HK can dance..he is ammmmmmaaaazzzzziiiinnnnnnggg.

Enjoy.

You got to be kidding, it bordered on the fascist -- the battle scenes were good, but otherwise it is quite a conservative movie with obvious undertones of Bush doctrine. Not to mention, once again Western Civilization is depicted in all its glorious might while the Persian king is a gay joker (historically this is inaccurate as well, as the History channel pointed out)

Dude.. I saw it with my daughters ( 7 yr old and 15 month old).. BOTH (yes, both of them) were rocking to this guy's moves. His physical ability is just incredible.

Also, even Uday and Bips to some extent were flashing their Biceps.

Right, and THAT is the reason I go to watch movies - to dvelve deep into their historical accuracy, their socialogical implications and their political motives. Esp ones based more off of a graphic novel than real history.

Ash looked OK, I think...nothing great. This skimpy-dress, "I am like" role does not suit her. Anyway, she danced well in the "Crazy kiya re" song. My wife tells me that AB walked out of the screening of the movie because of Hrithik and Ash's kissing scene!! Good gossip, eh!

Oh I did. I almost didnt finish my popcorn since I was so obsorbed by the cinematography. Fantastic cut scenes, use of lighting to bring a 'graphic novel comes to life' effect!

Ofcourse, I did see the History channel special on the 300 (including a well deserved coverage of the naval battle that was going on concurrently) the day before. And having been a bit of an history buff I had already read enough about grecian histroy at the point to have a decent background of the affair already.

Then I went to the cinema, paid my $9.50 ( freaking seattle rates!) , bought an overpriced bag of popcorn, and walked in wide-eyed with anticipation of some good ole sword slicing, spear hurling, blood spewing action!
