Will Sreesanth play? or is it likely to be Zaheer? Zaheer as usual has been blowing hot and cold - a good few overs
and trash mixed to perfection! Farhat is likely to come for Afridi (though CI thinks Iqbal will replace Afridi, and Farhat will
come in place of Butt who scored a match winning 100 just 2 games ago!)

also, something ive said before--

india really needed replacements. we have no reserve batsman right now.

so if the strategy was to bowl first after winning toss, we should've name a batsman as a supersub. Only, of course, we have nobody. This is very very poor strategy.

superb start, just what we have been asking for, except its come in the second last oneday, wish this was the second innings of the last test.

anyways if we keep emotions aside for a moment, and look deeply at this act of keeping zaks as super-sub there is one clear message coming through: that the role of zaks is to share 5 overs with the fifith bowler. right now we have pathan, rp singh, aa and sreesnath, zaks comes in when you need five overs to be bowled with the fifth spinner bowler - srt/vs/yuvi. it makes sense on paper at least. this way you still go in with seven batsmen.

on this wicket it seems pace is a better bet, i'm sure on slower pitches you will have a spinner like HS coming in as fifth bowler super-sub.

any other analysis?

He also said something yesterday that I didn't quite get. he said that the team is developing a fifth bowler. In fact that was the heading, but then he talked about using Sachin, Veeru and Yuvraj as fifth bowlers. Now aren't these guys acting as fifth bowlers since the SG-Wright regime itself when we chose to play 7 batsmen? So where is the new development as far as the fifth bowler is concerned?

This is the correct time to strangle pakistan. Bring back Pathan/ RP Singh / Sreesanth for a couple of over to give them a chance of taking one more wicket.

I watched the match till 9 overs today morning. Sreesanth bowled with lot of discipline. He has got pace, nip, outswinger, good bouncer, good followthrough. Time to replace Agarkar. Sreesanth could have certainly made an impact in the karachi test.
