Tomorrow India will lose the game yet another that they could have won, yet another overseas series where we should have actuall come back on paper merit as the team on top.

What actually has happened is that we got white washed in the ODI's and now we will lose the test series 2-1 a series that we should have won...

A lot of vitriol will be spilled here on the DG, in print, on various websites etc...

But a few things  that wont change are

1. A lot of us on the DG will spend a better part of their Saturday or whichever day in your part of the world watching

2. Many of us still will expect India to pull of a miracle win

3. We will all forget this loss when the next series begins and begin discussing the merits and demerits of that teams composition...

4. We will all find justification for this loss in about three months....

while the shameful collapse is in itself a pity, consider the historical implications. A team consisting of supposed greats like SRT,VVS,RD & SG could never impose themselfs in SA and this innings was their last chance to make amends before they retired and look at the way SRT played his last innings in SA. Put a Warne or McGrath in such situation and see how they raise to the occasion, somehow they reserve their best for the most critical & historic matches. Well, probably, it is not fair to compare these wimps to legends like warne.

Well Warne almost scored a century there.  Our players are representative samples of our nation - they lack the confidence in general even though they may have capabilities.  May be Shewag has too much of it for his own good.  May be they are all just humble souls - may be they think that it is inappropriate to win at the expense of somebody else.  If the win falls on their lap - then that's what Almighty wished.  That's why they don't go out and snatch a win from others.
