Kban,
I suggest - you make it "non sticky" ;D when u open it...
Reason is, many have ingrained the habit of skipping past the sticky thread and looking at the middle of the screen. Just make it non-sticky, and let it rise to the top with attention.

Hmm....you mean sticky threads get instantly ignored? :(
Food for thought for the mods!
But atleast they stay ignored. Other threads just vanish into the yonder beyond!

Ignored may not be the word...more like a lot of regulars (i think) have the habit of looking at the "active thread" area, and the active thread area is mentally trained to be the area where non-sticky threads are.

Nicely put! The bold formatted portion is rather interesting.
Now we are training the threads too instead of ourselves . :)
Finey, beware! GC's pracesses are dangerous! ;D

I agree with Fineleg. I have this habit of not looking at the sticky threads. I saw the celebration thread only when Jaat started this thread and then I started a look for it.

Sticky threads are like the reference section of a library.
I feel! :)

Same here, I did not see the celebration thread till jaat started this.

I notice this habit with many members.

I believe the usage of sticky thread can be as follows:
After a thread's 'initial' active life is over, for archive purposes - certain reference threads like VIDEO urls etc etc should be made sticky for easy future access and additions to the thread.

Its high time, we introduce audio-effects, so that we can effectively 'convey' our feelings across! :D
