Crow Curry and Its Consumption
« on: December 18, 2006, 04:35:55 PM »
aka The Own Up Thread -

camon camon, all who didnt believe India could turn it around, whether we didnt have the personnel or we didnt have the spirit or we didnt have the skill, please line up. Dean is taking attendance for today's lessons. After owning up to the rest of the class, please take notes on the following:

1) Sreesanth is a strange boy whose antics we will all praise and emulate from now on. In your spare time please practice the following: brandishing a bat whilst doing the belly dance.

2) Haroon Lorgat, Daryll Cullinan and all the other 3-0 predictors are not fond of curry. So Losingnow will provide an easy recipe for the preparation of Crow Mussallam, which all students will be required to memorize.

3) Mickey Arthur had threatened at the start of the match that India would face a barrage of hostile, short, intimidatory bowling. What we got was a fast bowler who wanted to "blow their heads off", lasting one session and a motor-mouth beaten at his own game.
UCV doesnt believe in hostility. We believe in helping others, even the enemy. Given that SA now need a miracle to get back into this Test series, the brains trust has decided to send over Sathya Sai Baba to aid them.

4) It is reported that terrorist Dawood Ibrahim was keenly following the Ind-SA match on PTV (which provides commentary of their own - in their unbiased opinion, SRT is a RAW agent). Apparently his friend Azza told him that SA would win, and Dawood had put down a substantial amount of money based on this information. Upon seeing India win, he had a massive heart attack. For homework, students are to get into groups of 3 (dont worry, Ruchir will be on his own) and make 'Get Well Soon' cards for the ailing gangster.

5) Finally, there is a huge clamor for a separate bowling coach to be provided to the Indian team. We at UCV do not understand the necessity for such an overindulgent luxury. Nevertheless, we are dedicated to the cause of the Indian supporters  first and foremost, so we are starting a fund. Donations can be made payable to the Dean, just deposit your runs in my account  ;D. Our initial survey has concluded that we might be able to purchase the 2007 model Ashok Leyland Cheetah for the bowler's exclusive usage.

okay, class dismissed.

I own up- could never see an Indian victory coming, could never see SG doing so well and could never see Motu diving to take those catches.

But if you think as a young buck you can hold on to the Dean's post just remember some Dadas are down but never out.

I think the students should also be involved in activtites such as massaging the poor SA chicks who have undergone such trauma at a SA loss ( I will lead that class)

BTW, excellent post. The Sai Baba and terrorist parts were really funny.

DD... excellent as usual.

By the way, all our channels and reporters do so much reporting of junk (As a report went: Ganguly has just run into the bathroom but we havent really heard any positive sounds from inside. It is hard to say whether he has been successful or not. Stay tuned for live updates. In other news SRT pee'd 7 times today which is 2 times more than his average. We have our expert Urologist Dr I. P. Now who will shed more light on the matter)

I am curious how come none of our channels have approached SA chief selectors with the question about his 3-0 prediction and offering some crow?

I think the 3-0 prediction meant 3 to India and 0 for SA

funny one..applause

I don't think I need to eat any crow or attend any classes. I was very positive about SG's performance and about India's chances. Immediately after ODI series, I was sceptical, but over the next week leading upto the test, I became more positive about our chances, looking at various reports, our performance in tour matches etc. My main logic was this. I was pretty sure our bowlers will bowl good on a good bowling pitch, and given the heat batsman were under, SG's absolutely critical come back etc., I thought our batsman will do atleast OK, hence I was feeling positive. Anyway, I never came out and said as much, neither did I post anything about losing.
