Greg Chappell confirmed that the rotation policy would continue in India's attempt to "manage their resources". Playing Pakistan, according to him, provided India with a good opportunity to test themselves against a top side, probably the second or third best side in the world. "We think we compare favourably to Pakistan," he said. "They're a good batting side and have some exciting young fast bowlers. We're looking at it as a journey and we get an opportunity to play some good sides throughout this year. We'll get an idea of where we stand by the end of the year."

The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has hosted 20 ODIs of which Pakistan have featured in 16. The hosts have won 12, including the only duel with India on their previous tour two seasons ago, and lost 4 (2 to South Africa, 1 each to Sri Lanka and England). South Africa have won all 5 times they have played at this venue, including 3 times in the 1996 World Cup.

Following are the summarised scores of the lone Indo-Pak ODI in Rawalpindi:

March 16, 2004 — Pakistan 329/6 in 50 ovs (Yasir Hameed 86, Shahid Afridi 80; Ashish Nehra 3/44). India 317 in 48.4 ovs (Sachin Tendulkar 141, Rahul Dravid 36; Shoaib Akhtar 3/49, Shabbir Ahmed 3/65). Pakistan won by 12 runs. MoM: Tendulkar

Powar is a good hitter. But lost out on his bowling.

I agree with u there. that error message is just too painful.

strange - both the DG's refresh seems to be the same for me. I guess my internet is preety fast to see a noticable slowness.

i reckon their database has been corrupted because the server is probably not capable of running such big MySQL databases. Anyhow, doesn't matter, their choice, I'll focus on the game
