It maybe because they want to consider only actors here. Mithun and acting???

Mithun's acting career is  atale of 2 stories. In commercial movies he has wasted himself but he has been a revelation in art films where his true acting prowess comes to the fore --his 3 national awards are a testimonial to that, most notably his acting in Mrigaya & Tahader Katha --if you ever get a subtitled version, its worth a see.

That I agree. He did do a great job in Mrigaya .. did not see Tahader Katha. The bummer is when u think of Mithun the movie Disco Dancer comes to mind. I liked his role in Agneepath but when I recently watched it that too was way overacting trying to portray a south indian guy.

One thing I have never understood is why do they make all south Indians appear so geeky in Hindi movies?

Mehmood in Padosan to Mithun Agneepath.

Geeky may not be the right word. Why are all South Indians (Madrasis) shown as very loud people? I am OK with stereotyping as long as it has a semblance of accuracy to it.

BTW, jfk, what else came with that prace tag of Rs250?

Nothing......  >:(
what toney, were you expecting the answer to be 'a backrub'?
A backrub will be inconvenient while watching a movie. I was thinking of other things which routinely happen.

What kind of theaters have you been going to, mate?

This routinely happens in Kerala and no, I am not making this up. Some crazy idiots hire the services of women for extra service in theatres. The sad part is, this is not restricted to the slimy theatres but to the good ones too. So you do come across these personalities. And nobody bothers to make this an issue, especially when you are with relatives and dont want to be in unnecessary trouble.

PS: When jfk said that he dished out 250Rs for a movie, I thought that he was including the popcorn and soda perhaps ;).

That too. But what word would u use for characters like Mehmoods in Padosan or Mithun in Agneepath? I am struggling for names but I bet there have been many other movies where I have seen similar south indian characters depicted.
