Ultimately those last 5 overs in our innings have proved too costly.

And since Karthick bowled a good last over,  expect him in the next ODI

India have lost a good chance to start on a winning note. I wonder if they would win another match in this series!

NO the Peshwar crowd was not special-- they threw "missiles" at our players repeatedly

what a match. though we will never know the 'true' ending, i think d/l is an acceptable finish to the match, you cant have no result when 99% of the match is over. furthermore, i think younis and rana knew they were going to go off at some stage, and that they were ahead on d/l, so they werent worried about scoring off kartik in that last over.
our batting faltered in the end overs, but still, we should have defended 329.
oh well...next match is do or die. lose it and the series is over.

some points:
sree santh is too erratic. hopefully RP will play in place of him.
kaif should not bat at 7, he really muffed up his lines at the end.
sachin should not score any more ODI 100s. every time he gets one, we lose.  :D
ridiculous to play kartik instead of bhajji. absolutely silly. i dont care how badly bhajji got hit in the Tests.
no point worrying about the nature of our bowling attack, 300 has become the norm, so as long as theyre in that range theyre ok, at least for this series.
this odi series is going to be bat vs bat, so we better be ready to chase 300+ totals like pak did today.

Sachin slowing down towards his hundred was definitely a factor - that took away all the momentum. esp since he did not stay to capitalize on it leaving the rest with very few overs to get their eye in before hitting. Of course he got a bad decision but that was a very poor shot.

for God's sake, gouravk. we were going at 6.5+ runs per over, whatever Sachin was doing. he was playing his role perfectly, letting IKP, MSD, YS play aggressively while he fed them the strike.
to blame him for getting out after scoring 100 (that too a poor decision. not out, is not out, you cant say, oh poor shot, so deserved to be out. he frikkin gloved it) is ridiculous. If there's anyone to blame for our poor finish, it's RD's bad lbw decision, and kaif, agarkar, zak. inexcusable to have 5 wickets in hand and score 23 runs in the last 5 overs.
