Ganguly to retire from One Dayers?
« on: February 05, 2006, 04:08:56 AM »

Looks like he has decided to retire from One Dayers.

Calcutta: The CAB will pick the squad for the national one-day meet on Monday.

The squad will be announced after CAB officials speak to Sourav Ganguly on whether he will take part in the competition. The East Zone meet begins in Dhanbad on Saturday.

According to a source, the former India captain is unlikely to make himself available for the national one-dayers, but may play for East Zone in the Deodhar Trophy which will be hosted by Central Zone from February 25.

SG should be in plans for WC 2007, even as an all-rounder. His style of bowling will suit the low pitches.

Our SG is not going to back out of this battle soon. He will see off a lot of detractors...just mark my words!

Yes and he still has goals. Needs to take India back down to the #7 ranking for one.

We'll be back to #7 if we lose 1-4 to Pak (I think)....

Tough to say-- depends on Sri Lanka and how they do against RSA and Australia, if they make the finals

But even then they won't fall below India. For e.g., If India lose to Pak 1-4 and (1) SL beat SA and lose to Aus twice or (2) SL lose to SA, SL will still be above India in the rankings right ?
