Sachin's dismissal and call back video
« on: September 23, 2006, 02:25:38 PM »
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/AF_VA2OK4HU&rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/AF_VA2OK4HU&rel=0</a>

Ignore the title of the video- some Pakistani propo*a as usual.

The ball clearly hits the back of his shoulder, umpire makes a mistake and then rectifies it after consulting with the other umpire (which is within the rules) and then Ricky Ponting starts sulking.

I  don't understand this- so Latif was banned for pretending to fake a catch; here you have whole Aussie team who have a clear view from wkt keeper and slips' positions to see that the ball did not hit his bat and still appeals. Mind you these are the same Aussies who implore other batsmen to "walk" in close catch situations to make umpires' jobs easier.

I remember in a match Ravi Shastri was given out when the ball was deflected from his hips and the wkt keeper but the keeper I think Jeff Dujon but not sure)  immideately told the umpire it was not from the bat.

The umpire rectified the situation here but clearly the Aussies are not playing by either "rules" or the "spirit of the game" which they propogate all the time. So who's really crying???

Hey why not have SG atleast in the 15 for this reason- he will be part of the team and can take on the beeping Aussies whenever they start behaving like spoilt rich kids- I can just imagine SG taking off his shirt and point to RP- "This is known as the shoulder where the ball was deflected from!"

or take Sidhu as the expert reporter or something and have him walk upto Ponting- "you are not just crying, you are beeping cheating"

among the assorted P-CycleLogics and witch doctors in the current team we can add an Aggro Manager of which we can have Sidhu paji as life time honorary doctrate doctor

What about Bhajji's dismissal. Such an appeal in unison when the sicko did not even show a flicker !!!! Some talent that is.

After SRt was called back, MG was smiling and the commentator ( forgot which one) said something like "MG knew he wasnt out" - That MG still appealed is bad didnt seem to strike the commentator!

sgusa,
everyone has accepted the fact that players will continue to appeal, fully aware that a batsman isnt out. There is nothing we can do about it and since everyone does it, fair enough. What I cant stand is the hypocrisy of Gilchrist and company who make a big deal about walking but then also appeal even though they know that the batsman isnt out.

what is required is a resounding WC07 defeat in the finals at the hands of our Team India to put these kangaroos ke chate aulad in place.

I would love that but maybe, we should just get rid of them early on itself and then defeat Pak in the finals ;D

IMO, only feasible solution is SGUSA, H2SO4 and Supari....

Dex, I would like to report Achutank for using the word Beepers. We all know what this "beep" stands for. I would suggest that Achu be deported to Guantanamo bay for this heinous crime against Humanity!
