Hey guys,
We would like suggestions for v 2.0 of the main page. Everyone, like now, will have access to post. Let's talk in terms of what should be there, what the purpose should be, etc.

Take this seriously.

Create sections in there. News. Quiz. Humor section. An Inzi corner and even a regular banter column.

Each one of these would have its own audience. Yes even the banter one (many people my get attracted by it.

Split the page into these sections and make one of the regulars the "editor" for each of these sections. Its then their responsibility to make this section successful.

So if I own the humor section. its my job to search the forum for any humor article posted by  anyone (the author can also pm me for that) and then edit out the banter out of the following comments and then post it to the main page.

Banter should be the only section where internal jokes are allowed (and allow/force Mockani to edit this one).

Basically have regulars edit each section and set expectations that all sections need to be modified once every other day atleast. If someone cant take the load they should not be an editor.

it should be the responsibility of the editor to find a replacement (or identify two people per section) if they would be unavailable for more than a day or two.

I was thinking on the lines of how a tabloid maybe laid out

Divide the page into many sections

lets say take a page and divide into six equal parts two across and three from top to bottom ... thats what I meant in sections. People who want to see any particular one can see everything on the main page or can navigate through the side bar as cricinfo has.

Someone who is good with design can do a better job but thats the gist of what I suggested. Idea is to have visibility for all topics and mainly give people responsibility for maintaining a small part of the page.

I like this idea...and Achutank is the first name that comes to mind for the design part
