Chappell implements rolling camp
« on: August 30, 2006, 11:10:13 PM »
India's preparation for the forthcoming tri-series in Malaysia includes a Greg Chappell-devised division of players then pitted against each other. As India began a week-long training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, Chappell has included just five players from the 16-man squad for the first two days. The remaining players will be split in two further groups to enable Chappell to devote personal attention to each.

"This rolling camp is about developing individual players, so by making them better we can make the team better," Chappell told reporters. "I will talk to each player to see what their needs are and what areas they need to work on over the next couple of days. I want to give the players as much variety as possible. If we do the same thing day in and day out, we are not going to do much as a team or as individuals."

In addition, Chappell has utilised a bowling machine that will deliver balls from a considerable height. As he divulged, "There are certain teams around the world who have height in their fast bowlers. We have to simulate as much as possible".

India need match practice ahead of the tri-series, given that they were robbed of action in Sri Lanka earlier this month. Following the withdrawal of South Africa over security concerns, India's three-match fixture against the hosts was ruined due to heavy rain. "Sri Lanka was disappointing but there was nothing much we could do about it," Chappell added. "We have to make the most of the opportunities now."

The tri-series, including Australia and West Indies, runs from September 12 to 24 in Kuala Lumpur.

It's a new hair-transplanting technique they are testing on Veeru. They are taking his pubic hairs and surgically transplanting on his head.

It achives 2 purposes. 1) He can always keep his head *high*. 2) It will rid him of his habit of stroking his hairs, 'cause the moment his does that now.....  ;)  ;D

Yep, I guess he did just lose it quick.  Actually happened to a college buddy of mine who had a pretty full head of hair at age 23 and then really thin up top just a year later.
