Hey wear your smites on your chest with pride.

Smite se kya darna, use to aana hai
Do din ki hai zindagi hume apni post badhana hai!

Smites are  a mark of making it to the DG. If some one smites you and doesnt say anything basically it means they have gotten to the end of their wits and all they are left with is a mouse click. why would you worry about such people! Take these smites as an evidence of the fact that you are getting to these people. These idiots dont have the intelligence to put a thought together or type up a response so they just do all they can. Click on the mouse.

ha, it could also be people who talk to you on the DG but do this on the sly. mine went up from 30 odd to 41 thanks to this smiter stalker. but yeah, am glad i am irking IT.

Tell me something ... how does it matter if someone does it on the sly. This is a faceless forum for most. If they cant say it to your face then think of how STUPID they are. Scared of people on the internet. Why would u get bothered by such idiots.

i am not bothered but more curious to understand the psychology of these beings. doing it on the sly while maintaining a friendly face on the DG is hypocritical! but you are right, not worth caring about and that's what i will do. no, i will irk them more.  ;D i feel flattered that this BOZO takes the pain to smite me every day.

there are about 200 members of the DG who do not post - ever. then there are about 40 who pop in like once a week and hardly ever post. then there's us fools. methinks the serial smiters be well hidden (not actually mr. hidden) in the vast populace of the DG

If the forum software or the server logs keep track of every user's every activity( atleast for a given time period) then a simple script can figure out which users are smiting the most and who they are smiting.

What do I get in response of posting an article saying positive things about SG and reminding us of an important date in his career -- A Smite.

Many thanks to the person who smited me. Oh well, .....

And RAVI/SURAJ,
You have a problem with the title of this thread?? That's weird, to say the least. I was expecting this article to be posted by one of the SG-fans. After all, SG-fans have posted articles about him where much less positive have been said. So I was expecting it to be posted by them since it celebrates an important milestone in SG's career. When I did not see anyone else posting it, I posted it myself and asked a question to SG-fans thru the title of this thread.

Anywho. I deduce that SG-fans are so riled up with those who don't neccessarily support SG, that they smite them even when something positive is posted about SG.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Why would you expect that this article will be posted only by so called SG fans. You seem to have clearly divided the cricket fans fraternity as pro-SG and the rest. Remove the blinkers and you will see that the title is not really praise worthy....And whether you would have done a similar thread with a similar title for another player is hypothetical and not worth discussing at this point in time

From what i have seen , there are three people who  have hidden their id...Self, Achu and Mock....

Mock...the system does not allow you to smite yourself....masochism is not allowed on this DG
Achu...He has better things to do
Self...I am too bored for smites and applauds.....

Please do a further  elimination analysis and the solution is pretty close

there are many more and once you have a few suspects, it is easy to check if they were online then and voila, simple. like, just 20 minutes ago, i got a smite and it is rather elementary to figure out who did it - the same, sneaky smiter.  ;D  nah, i don't suspect myself, achu or you :)

i love this - let the smite war begin!!! and let's do it in the open, say what, sneaky smiter?

actually, i have asked the mods to investigate now, officially.

Applause.......now go and have a holy dip in Ganga or whatever river, you live next to! ;D

Ruchir. At this time I would implore you to do exactly what Losing has done. Just ignore this bloke. Will make for a better DG experience.

why ignore him? i thought it was a nice comeback.

or is this mob action? ;D

i am a very very rare smiter, i like to reply. but i give appluase very liberally.

in the end the love that you get is equal to the love that you make.

cp has got so many apps from me, somebody will not believe that we argue so much.

You seem to have clearly divided the cricket fans fraternity as pro-SG and the rest.

Cricket fan fraternity was divided the day SG gave the interview to Bhogle. I did nothing towards the division. In fact I was trying to bridge the gap by posting a SG-praising article myself. Alas, you do not see it that way.

Remove the blinkers and you will see that the title is not really praise worthy

Before posting this article on this DG, I posted it on my Rediff blog (that is connected to Sightscreen). Here is the link: http://ruchirjoshi.rediffiland.com/scripts/xanadu_diary_view.php?postId=1154606906
All I request you to do is, go to the link and see the language I used to post the same article there. For your benefit, I will put that excerpt here:
Atul Sondhi, on The HT, reminds us that Aug-3 is the day when Ganguly completed his 10,000 runs in ODIs - only the 3rd person to achieve that feat after Sachin and Inzy. He then makes a pitch for one last chance to be given to Ganguly to prove that he still has it in him.
Tell me, did I use any kind of objectionable or double-meaning language there, to post this article?? I think not. Even there, I said the same thing -- this article reminds us of SG's milestone. I don't understand why would you think that I have an ulterior motive in chosing this title OR that the title is offensive in any way.

SURAJ:

at some point can we start discussing the article's content rather than "Ruchir's Hitlerisque attempts" to divide the cricket world???

Thanks buddy...  ;D ;D  For making a Hitler out of me...

hey i got a smite  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D thnx ;D 8)

Hey, if i were to post every time I get a smite, I would stay up all day and all night and my post count may exceed Pessi's  ;D

I just monitor my smite count like once a week... and look for milestones (for example just made it past 350 recently.

I take pride in the smites ... but looks like smiters have gotten wiser. They dont smite me as much now a days. I got to 300 so much quicker but have now slowed down. Why the difference in the applauds (346) and smites (359) is the smallest it has been. I ned my 400!!!

What do I have to do ? Let me see

Did u hear the story of the Bengali guy eating a Rasgullah?

there that should do it :)
