Twin is pointless for 2 people. Depending on bedroom size even Queen is minimalistic. Go for the Cal King as others suggested if there is space.

You are married for 10 years and still sleep on a bed ???   Surprising... ;D   By now, you should be domesticated enough to sleep on floor....

Yaar. Experience speaks. We bought a queen when we furnished our bedroom. Until last  year when we only had one child it was easy for him to squeeze in when he woke up at night .... now with two kids .... guess who gets kicked out of the room :)

Yep.

BTW, wait till one of them develops (if they have not already) this nasty habit of starting N-S and ending up E-W by morning. No C-King or (C-king)^2 can solve that problem.

Bottomline: Kismet main jab likha ho sofa...

I suffer this daily. My son forms an H between me and my wife. Worst part is that his head remains towards his mom and feet towards me.  Every night I am kicked by my son. Dude is not even waiting for me to reach old age...  :'(

My suggestion is for twin  Bed. After ten years of marriage romantic grape turn to a raisin . We become more real. When you are in real world There is always a chance of disagreement. Disagreement on “sending  children to private/public school,” ..  to “ buying unleaded or super unleaded gas”. Moreover wives always  think that we outlaw(husband) never show enough respect to our in laws . Wives have a habit . When there is a disagreement wife will be sleeping in the extreme  end of  the bed.  If you have queen or King bed , distance will be like between Alaska and Florida. If you have twin bed where she will go . So She will have to sleep close to you.

I did never think of that. I will be celebrating tonight for having  floor with carpet. Should I give proxy for you(CP) and ruchir While I will be drinking beer tonight. If not this Joke is you(CP) and Ruchir.

One Irish used to go to a Pub and everyday he asked  for three beers and three slices of Pizza .  One day the bartender  asked  him, “ Why you always order three beers and three slices of Pizza”. Irish said “ I eat and drink one for me and give proxy for two of  my brothers who live in Ireland.”.  It had  continued for long time. One day he ordered two beers and two slices of Pizza. The bartender assumed that one of his brother had died and said “ I am sorry that you lost your brother.” Irish replied, “ Hey I did not loose any of my brother. I gave up drinking. I am just giving proxy for my brothers.

bunch of oldies and their problems with kids  ;D
my funda is simple. my bed is a nice twin bed. i sleep in it alone sometimes. people (of the other sex) are free to join me. otherwise i have a sleeping bag you can make use of. and a pretty big bathtub too.

PS: there is an extreme case where i MIGHT offer to use the sleeping bag and relinquish use of my bed for the night (never 2 nights in a row - im not crazy). but then that is done solely for the purpose of collecting favors  ;D

as you can guess my place is the quintessential bachelor pad/inn/halfway home. people come to watch cricket, eat, sleep, study, watch movies etc. and sometimes they dont leave. not that i complain much about it because certain bawis are always welcome  ;D

please do not call us oldies. Our age is flexible. When I see a 25 years old lady walking down the road I feel 25. When my boss gives me a lot of work I feel 65.

Srinath's term (i just coined it) for oldmen: Experienced Yengsters

Yo all yengster dad's like GCPH, CP, LN et al:

Why dont u let ur kids sleep in their own bed or bedroom? (i know its not like "u dont want" to let them...but...more like they dont allow u to and kick u out of the beds!  ;D)
Well, i guess if u've let them get used to sleeping with you, then it is a hard habit to change - but if right from the beginning u had the baby sleeping in the crib and tried as much as possible let them be in their own crib, and then later on their own beds (when they grow up) - maybe they'll be used to sleeping on their own?

(Yep, babies will cry a lot, and u prob cuddle 'em a lot, but once in a while u do put them in their cribs, then they get used to it -  i suppose, but Yengster Dads can offer real-world wisdom here!?)

Cognac is french brandy. Cognac based Orange liquors are a different matter. :_

(Yep, babies will cry a lot, and u prob cuddle 'em a lot, but once in a while u do put them in their cribs, then they get used to it -  i suppose, but Yengster Dads can offer real-world wisdom here!?)

I'm sure all Yengster Dads would have tried putting their kids in cribs at very early age. Kids would have cried. It is at this point that Dads and Moms have to harden themselves. Put the kid at ease but make sure (s)he sleeps in the crib. This is something I could not do (I can speak for myself only).

Yup. But I have seen a few cases personally (in India) where parents started giving Gripe Water to kid regularly, at a very early age because they could not stand her wailing. Initially, their faces were like -  ;D    Slowly, their kid started getting addicted to Gripe Water. After many months, the kid could not sleep without Gripe Water. Then parents' expression was -  :'( :'(

They were able to get their kid off Gripe Water with great difficulty. They had to bear manyfolds more wailing when they stopped giving Gripe Water. That MAY be one reason why products like Gripe Water are not sold off-the-shelf in USA.

Another example - One of my father's very very close friend started giving 1 tea-spoon of brandy to his grandson every night so that the child could sleep well. He continued giving brandy because kid was sleeping very well but the kid started becoming addicted and became lethargic during daytime. However, because of lethargy, the kid gained weight. The grandpa and everyone else was very happy as they thought the kid is getting healthy. Slowly they noticed kid's lethargy. They stopped the brandy. Kid became active but also became very skinny. Because now he was burning more energy than he was intaking via food (small diet because of early lethargy). Around age of 5, the kid became normal.

Moral of my stories (real) is that any medicine that makes the kid drowsy MUST be used with extreeme caution and onlu when the kid absolutely needs it.
