Define a topic as set consisting a non-zero number of elements (attributes that define the topic)
Define posting as events that begin in a topic. Each post has a random number of elements in the universe.
εn is the total distance between elements of the topic N
dm = the total distance between elements of a post m

Given a topic T, as posting tends to infinity, diT due to the stochastic process generated by the posting. This known in some places as Mock_Turtle is hungry after a 90 minute workout effect.

Assume that Mock_Turtle finishes her work out after post i, then post i +1 has elements not contained within topic T. Hence, we have topic divergence.

Yes...I was inspired by the mods to make a joke wrapped in divergence theorem. What next? A recipe for hummus wrapped in kbanesque speech.

Hmmm...I wonder what treasures we might unearth if we actually read all of kban's posts.

what issue is this? do start a thread with the news item - is it the one where they unearthed the fact that some "impure" woman managed to visit the shrine and they were planning on doing a purification ritual?

SG - Well, unlike the other DG members, I never 'left' the DG.....just been quietly reading all the discussions going on here.. ;)

MT - Yes, the Kannada actress who claims to have touched the Ayyappa idol and hence has made the whole shrine impure etc.  If you are interested kumudam.com has a video interview with the astrologer who predicted these..

I doubt it. Humans as a species are prone to destruction.

Mock, i am one of those who love hot dosais with cold thick curds  ;D

I do mix "thenga podi" (coconut spice mix) with the curds. OR some mahali pickle

SGUSA-I know the chances of it happening are non existant, but if it were to I would never dine at your place-Anyone who likes Mahali is a sworn enemy of mine...I mean how can anyone like a vegetable that smells like old rugs with crushed bed bugs....

those things are a gamble..some places they go nuts with the maple glazing and ruin the darn thing...other places they do it right. I don't buy them any more...not worth the risk.

this stuffed-roast baigan is just the "enna katrikkai" using the small aubergines? what did you stuff it with? i am seriously thinking of heading out to the indian store now and getting a packet of puttu powder and try the puttu. am not going to risk making it from first principles on my maiden attempt.

It is not strictly "enna katrikkai". It is more the north indian style. Stuffing is standard masala stuffing ( any combo of masalas(fenugreek, mustard, cumin etc) + roasted ground daals + chili+ in a little bit of yogurt). Also added a bit of ground garlic. I then oven roasted this with a little bit of oil.

Basically take the recipe on Bawarchi and adapt to taste

Strong Keralian influence in the menu (moili, ishtu, malabar paratha, appam)? Or is my knowledge poor?

Gulab jamun with ice cream? Interesting! What flavor did you have? Dulce de leche would be good I guess. Or even some caramel flavor.

Was this potluck?

no, this was at a restaurant that has a cook from chalakudi(a place in kerala!). one of my usual haunts. well, this was plain vanilla ice-cream. i like the hot-cold combo, say apple torte w ice-cream and such.

over-roasted it? wdn't it get somewhat dry and rubbery? or do you keep drizzling it with some liquid? i am too lazy to go to the indian store and also hate that place anyway, i get the long eggplants, chop it into chunks, slit them and stuff it with a mix of coriander powder, cumin and chilli and then pan-fry it. separately fry onions, and potatos(cut in finger shape) and add it to the top.

it is somewhat of an oily dish but quite tasty. i make it when i decide to call someone over(rarer than a bluemoon occurence) and let them suffer the grease :-)

BTW - Mock - during the times u had gone AWOL (absent without leave), poor Nima was once subjected to listening to a stag party for a brief while (or maybe long while) on the DG-chat (click for the saved transcript). U were spared of that (well, come to think of it, u do have good tolerance! So, keep the congenial smile  ;D )

BTW- abt AWOL, I think the deans need to institute a "Leave Letter" system before ppl go on leave...Remember the "leave letters" we used to submit to headmasters and class teachers!!!

oh, are you the brilliant soul who saves these too? how noble of you! as for my tolerance, idjets don't affect me.  ;D they make me laugh. and nah, i wdn't stoop as low as to applaud your stag party to win a congeniality award. i am already getting sick of being "nice" and want to bash someone.

well, some DGians are in india and will probably be back after summer. oh yeah, leave letters! tho i was a keener and rarely missed classes.
