no everytime you post something you get a credit. you can buy random stuff in the store using this stuff. if you buy a steal credit thing and it fails you get negative 10 points. i just stole 534 credits from you.

You may notice a lot of posts back and forth in this DG.
Some of it were written when I was in a lot worse mood than now.

After having reflected on it a bit - I realize that you may done what you did as only a Joke and not in any malicious intent. I am sorry for what I may have said in some other posts which may be appropriate only if u had done this with a malicious intent. (Meaning i am sorry for calling it as 'cheap' or 'robbery' etc...I take those back if u only did this for fun purposes.).

But - while u may have done this with the intent of just a joke - now I hope u realize it is not a joke for atleast everyone. So, for whosoever who do not find this as a joke (maybe just me or maybe there are others) - please understand that point-of-view and help the Mods to restore back the credits.

Thanks and sorry for being harsh when i was in a bad mood.

Thanks for aiming at me and totally being cheap shot(s).
Until today I felt the dg had ups and downs...but was still a decent place.

Today has convinced me how cheap whoever folk(s) can get.
And to imagine i was trying to locate info over many months/days/nights to post here as soon as i get it so i can share it with all you folks, and all that...and ...well just forget it.

I have had my Good and Bad days in the DG - but overall i thought i was a positive contributor to the DG.
Thanks folks - thanks for rewarding me...thanks for showing me all kinds of cheap people exist in real world and cyber world - after all, one needs to be ON-GUARD all the time isn't it? Closest Family, Close friends, distant friends, work, public places everywhere - On-Guard- isn't it? If not, watch out, beware...How did i forget this lesson? Oh, but i have friends here who remind me of those lessons - great.

Alas, i have been great in ranting - but in other things, i have been a bit too simple minded and a TL.

were you planning to buy a new car with all the runs you'd collected? runs have nothing to do with sacred karma, its just for buying stuff thats mostly useless.
if you go to your profile then click 'buy stuff' you will see. you can change your username, make one of your threads sticky etc.
oh yeah, dex, as i mentioned before, i was part of a forum where they also had this 'runs' thing, except the runs you got were proportional to the length of the post, not just 2 runs per post.

anyways, i predict k-slice has cast the first stone in what promises to be a bloody inter-DG-lactic war. Beware. The great divide was nothing. Now we will all REALLY have to take sides.

I am very frustrated and angry that this has been allowed in this DG (well, folks of all ilk exist everywhere, that is why there should be safeguards in the system from these things happening).
It is not pleasant experience for me for some brilliant person to steal my credits, just coz I thought this is a decent place and was not on my 100% on-guard (infact i was - i had PM'd dex like i mentioned before several months back, and he told me these are taken care of, thats when i let the frikkin' guard down) - and now brilliant!

I did not want to make a decision of leaving the DG in haste and in this mood. Hence I have done no such action like deleting my ID or something. I usually let things simmer down before making decisions.
BUT - I started deleting a few of my entire threads after no response from Mods today - but now I've read ur post and WILL STOP deleting my entire threads manually.

I will wait for Mods to investigate and REINSTATE *ALL* my prior credits in its entirety - and I ask u to make an announcement of how this will not happen again or how we can choose to protect ourself (if we choose to).

In the meanwhile - as I said I will NOT delete any further threads in the interim.

I hope Mods will take quick and swift action.

I KNOW I CANNOT BUY A CAR AND A HOUSE WITH THIS!!! I am not a fool - but I don't take part in Sahir's $1 bets - not coz $1 is a huge amt for me, becos it is what i choose to live by as a principle(or rather a simple 'CHOICE')...same here. Its a matter of my principle and basic decency and I will demand that - and I refuse to be part of something that is not.

fineleg, i do not understand why this is such a sensitive point for you. why do you see this as a 'negative thing' that can be done with runs? from what i know, Dex has removed everything 'bad' - such as adding applauses and smites, reducing the number of posts of others(terrible crimes indeed). the runs are just a feature to have fun with. as i said, the runs on their own are almost entirely useless, they are just there for a little bit of fun. that is exactly what k-slice is doing, obviously you are the only one who feels like something has been stolen.
taking 'runs' away should not affect you -

it doesnt take anything away from who you are on this DG and how much you contribute

you still have a ginormous number of posts - and that is evident, it is right under your username with every post you type

you have a huge number of applauds - if one wants to take even these seriously - they are tokens of appreciation for your work on the DG

dare i mention the threads - which you had begun to delete. at the end of the day fineleg is fineleg and whether you have runs or not does not make an inkling of a difference to who you are on this DG and what you do. i suggest you take these actions of k-slice in good humor and join me in planning a violent retaliation.

Aern't you short changing every one by such actions.

And when you are deleting threads that you started, have you stopped to consider that those threads included comments by others --the intellectual property rights to which are not owned by you but by the posters and the DG (yes all of us since it is our DG) jointly ?

Pray what prompted you to decide that this action is acceptable ?

All this for credits or runs that depict how many posts you have made or how many threads have been started. I am sure that Dex could have resolved that problem if you had given us time.

I understand and commiserate with your feelings but I cannot say I am thrilled with your action of deleting threads started by you --those threads included discussions which represents thought processes and intellectual property of other members.

Anyways, whats done is done. Please calm down till we can find out a way to resolve these issues.

I was trying to hold myself off from doing any drastic action.

There is ONLY ONE THREAD that I had deleted and then i stopped and then i saw ur post after that.
So, in effect one THREAD the one abt the RED BALL/WHITE BALL is what I had deleted. But I know KBAN had merged this with the "Cricket Knowledge" thread which still exists - so no real INFORMATION was lost.

In effect, I was angry - and I wanted to retaliate, but I specifically chose that thread as the first one to delete since I know it had BACKUP in terms of Kban having merged it already - after that I stopped, and then later saw ur post and TOTALLY stopped. ( I half-knew I was doing something in retaliation and did not want to regret it too much later, so I chose a "safe" thread to delete). and i did not delete any thread beyond that.

I am sorry for my feeling aggressive and u can either put back that thread if u can or anyways, all the info is merged and available so nothing is REALLY lost in that SINGLE thread i had so far deleted.

But I really felt shortchanged by k-slice and whoever else thought of all these brilliant schemes, and thought I should erase my tracks here. It is in a moment of heat - and I will step out to cool a little bit.

In the meanwhile - I do want and do hope that Dex and yourself will sort this out and reinstate normalcy.

Reducing the # of posts of other people is the WORST of that and dex removed that after a few of us (incl. myself) pointed it out to dex that it will lead to trouble in the DG.
But my beef is I had PM'd dex and also maybe posted on DG to remove this "steal credits" thingy or atleast ask him how this works and what one needs to do if one chooses not to be part of that 'tamasha'. Since I did not get a reply I did not know how this worked, nor I guess nothing was done to remove it.

What is done is done - what needs to be done is to revert it back and re-instate - and for heavensake, get rid of that 'feature' or atleast dont leave cryptic features - explain how it works, so people can choose to take part or opt out of tamashas.

Um, again, it has always been part of the add-on for months. You can attempt to steal credit and if you fail (most chances are you will) you will get negative karma. I can't do anything about it.

The Mods are looking into this and I am awaiting their help to reinstate my runs. I have not requested anything from them - other than to restore back the credits that were stolen from me. That is a fair request, and they are looking into that.
I will remain patient until they get back to me on this.

It was *NOT* my fault. U did not know abt this - PRECISELY my point.

Just like u I was also not aware of some things - u were prob not aware of its existence. I was aware of a few things when Dex initially implemented this. However, a few of us suggested to him to get rid of the negative things and he did get rid of the few negative things. This one remained, and I had sent PM (and prob also posted) to either remove this or explain how this worked. I dont fault him for not replying - he may have forgotten, but what happend was there was no explanation and apparently this did not get removed.
Thats ok - he may have forgotten to reply or busy - Fair enough. But I did not know how this worked and was not informed. So, if u want to implement something explain it to let folks know and then implement it.
In this case, I'm caught unawares - and it is *not* my fault. And to people who think they are smart and brilliant for "being able to catch other folks when they are unaware" - I tell them I will not put up with that.

In anycase, I trust Mods will restore things back and then explain the rules before they allow a new feature in the future.

You may think ignorance is ur fault because u had been away from the DG for a while (or not been active). So, you came back sometime recently and then now u think u may have missed what went on.

But - I was here all the time, posting and participating - I knew that they put the rules, and for some reason we were not aware of how certain things worked. I think thats why u think ignorance is ur fault, and in this case I do not think so.

U may still not care (even if u knew it and it got stolen) - sure, thats upto u.
