DRAW... Alrite..it all comes down to Italy vs Czech and US vs Ghana.

My 1000th post ..celebrates a great game played by US under horrible circumstances (referee was bad). Watchout guys, they will be a soccer(football) powerhouse in next 10 years.

losing now, I just watched the replay. I dont agree with the commentators. I thought all three red cards were well deserved. The commentators obviously fel disappointed at the US being on the receiving end but do you agree with them? And of course, they had no business telling the ref how to officiate. No ref is obliged to warn a player, already on a yellow if he commits another foul deserving a yellow. He went by the book and no one should be complaining on that.

I am really looking forward to the last two matches. I wish Ghana was in another group, perhaps replacing Saudi Arabia in theirs. They deserve to go through and for keeping the rest of tournament exciting, I want the Czechs and the Azurri to advance. Bad luck US, but to me they are the most boring team in the group.

Ghana is a fantastic team...and irrespective of what you think of US team, I like their speed, athleticism and in this game, perseverence & guts ( playing with 9 players against a 10 member established soccer power) .. I think the Mastreoni two-footed challenge was a red card. A little too dangerous. I am not sure what action has been taken against De Rossi, but since Totti was given a 3-match ban I would suggest a something similar for De Rossi. That was assault. Cannavaro and his buddies blatantly dived around to win fouls and that stupid ref could have sent of at least one more Italian if he was fair. The disallowed goal was fair - McBride was not part of the play...that was BS.

The U.S covered the pitch for 45 minutes in physical battle against Italy and held on. Superb performance.
