When did we last have a pace attack with the combined experieence of 28 test matches outside the subcontinent? And what if we need to dropan off colour IP, then its 4 test matches? Imagine an attack of SS,MP, VRV? crazy. HS has been pretty ineffective in foreign tests without the SG ball and RP is totally untested. So we basically have one experienced bowler AK. This is really the heigths of stupidity.

I know I aam a staunch AA supporter but even I am pleeasently surprised by his ODI performances. And even one of his worst critics like Prem has now seen AA's value, simply bcoz its only now that AA is performing to his potential. Even most of AA's strongest critics would not grudge him for a place atleast in the test squad.

You are just another disgruntled SG supporter. Why don't you come out and say that you hate GC and want SG in the team?

i wanted to pose the question: what if someone was off on a deserted island for the duration of this series, and then came back and saw Agarkar's performances. What would he do?

I am glad AA is returning back.  I do not think he contributed much to make a difference to this side that we must consider him for tests.  Let us just hope that AK can lend that big brother role this bowling needs.  I think the tests will a different ball game with Laxman and AK lending some much needed experience in both departments.

Don't have a clue buddy, but by the looks of his today's performance he is ok even when i return so I don't need to be on a permanent holiday!!!!

I think he shouls have had another couple of wickets today if Uttapa and raina had held on, or the gayle lbw was upheld. but then its ok.

ramshorns a little surprised by ur comment, i think he has been the best indian bowler by a distance!!!! What do u need to do to be considered for the test SQUAD? Isn't being the best bowler for 5 ODIs  and taking loads of wickets and creating quite a few other chances enough? U look at the other quicks in the squad and wonder, totally off colour IP and MP, an SS who is struggling with injuries and really struggling for rythm and a debutant who has not really done anything really great in the past month or two.

Avinash:Nothing against AA but just a personal view.  I have seen him bowl this series.  Nothing special that we need to keep him.  Actually he was partly responsible for losing the 3rd ODI.  When we had a leash he conceded 12 runs that over(I think 45th or 46th) and that took the pressure off.  Even in this ODI he was a OK.  I think the best of AA is not going to get us any where in tests IMO.  So I do not mind IP, MP, SS along with AK and RP/HS. 

The below is the sequence of that over where 4-5 runs less or a wicket would have clinched it in our favor in a very close game.  If he was our best bowler I would expect that wicket or economy from AA.

Ramshorns I find this selective use of one over very funny. I had a look at the match analysis and AA was indeed pretty good 10-32-2. I guess u forgot to add that in the very mnext over he conceded only 3 runs. I think the over was ok but for the 6 of the 1st ball so, 1 ball is enough for you to state that AA is not good enof for tests!!! What about the other 40 overs bowled but other bowlers, they seemed to have leaked runs like hell  without getting more than a wicket and funnily all the others are in the test squad.

I haven't been seeing the games so I really can't say whether he is bowling well, very well or OK. But I am not convinced with the one over arguement.

I agree. We should not look at just one over.
In this whole series, AA  bowled brilliantly and the best bowler in Ind side in the series.
