of course VRV is there in the squad. we have 6 "pace" bowlers in Irfan, Sreesanth, Agarkar, Munaf, RP and VRV

GK,
I had mentioned a long time ago when we were discussing this - u thought at that time VRV was in.
VRV is NOT in the squad.
SQUAD:
http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/2006/IND_IN_WI/SQUADS/

This VRV above is probably a Typo for H Singh (instead of H, someone has typed VRV?)

Thx for the info Fineleg. Serves me right for trusting Gourav  >:(

Again a lot of poor unsporting gestures by the Indian team in the practice match - scoring 289 and not bothering to declare earlier, reducing WI to 44/2 in 14, Dhoni being ungrateful visitor, RPS not bowling wides, AA bowling economically !!!! Ridiculous !!! Indication of things to follow. And the Indian team expect the fans to continue supporting them.... ::) ::)

This is a "jamaica" team. The real Windies team will not roll - don't worry. They will give a fight and u may get the "close" matches that u want.

Ok, looks like some of u have started thinking this is a 5-0 series based on a Jamaica match.
If Ind team starts to think the same way, that is the starting point of trouble for them! That is no longer confidence, it is plain over-confidence.

Um, no it's not based on the Jamaica match. It's based on the form and record of this West Indian team. Has some good batsmen, that's where the story ends. Being scared of Edwards is as ridiculous as shivering in boots thinking of Kabir Ali.

why does what we think will happen (5-0 etc) reflect on what the indian players are thinking? they are professionals, they should be able to handle all these pressures of overconfidence etc without us having (and fineleg in particular :D) to worry about it.
we think its going to be easy peasy, they should know that they will have to give 100% not just to get the desired scoreline but to cement their places in the team

Nope. I think we can beat any team (except Australia) any day consistently...... I hope the Indian teams thinks the same way too and even better, that they can also beat Aus consistently ;)

Montego Bay, JAMAICA: Indian cricket bowler Rudra Pratap Singh (C) is congratulated by teammates after dismissing a Jamaican batsman during a one day international warmup match in Montego Bay, Jamaica's main tourist resort town, 16 May 2006. India scored 289-7 in the first innings, as Jamaica was 98-6 after 32 overs. India is to play a series of five internationals that precede four Test matches against the West Indies as the team is hoping to win their first Test series against the West Indies in 34 years besides testing the Caribbean waters ahead of the 2007 World Cup.

jfk. looks like India is back to their boring winning ways. I think some of these players should talk to Azhar.

Will rotate. For starter will pick Irfan, Munna and Aggie. Will play RP in last 3 in place of Munna to keep him alright for Tests. And then may pick SSS for last 2 games to get some real practice in place of Aggie and Pathan for one game each.
