It was their own fault because they were dickheads wanting to mend rules for them just because allegedly rules were mended for others in the past.

i really dont see them asking for YS's equivalent money as being "dickheaded" in anyway whatsoever. So, by your logic, Sahara should have YS walk out for a game, claim he is unfit, which it is obvious he is and then they would be given the money to buy players? thats the ony other viable option i can see.

Sahara is owning Pune team which has purchased SG in their team. So anyone who associates themselves with SG has to be a dickhead. Now please do not ask if in the same token anyone who played under SG's leadership should also be called a dickhead because they never refused playing for him!

Purchased Ganguly?  Let us revisit this.  Guy begs his way back into the IPL after getting kicked out of the KKR team for being a cancer and no one wants to even touch him for two days in the auction.  Come on let us atleast not fudge the facts.  And no not everyone that played under him is a dickhead though as per you admittance Gangu is one.

Well they can ask what they want but it is clear as per the auction rules an injured players salary cannot be automically given back to get them an undue advantage over others.  The rule very much make sense.  It is people in Sahara that runs the team who did not understand the rule book and pulled off this tantrum IMO.  Also read below for some more clarity.

"During the last few days Sahara Adventure Sports Limited has requested that IPL vary its Player Regulations by allowing it to increase its Auction Purse from USD 1.6m to USD 3.4m in light of Yuvraj Singh's unfortunate illness. Whilst all within IPL and BCCI have a huge amount of sympathy for Yuvraj Singh and wish him all the best for a speedy recovery, it is unable to vary the Player Regulations," the BCCI insisted. The Board said Sahara could have picked a player during the transfer window after the auction instead of asking for bending of rules.

"The rules are very clear and are consistent with previous seasons - Sahara Adventure Sports Limited may take a replacement following the 2012 Auction," the Board said.

"Additionally, the Trading Window will re-open on February 6 and Sahara Adventure Sports Limited will then have a further opportunity to take new players. In the first four seasons of IPL, other franchises have been obliged to cope with the periods of unavailability of their players and have taken replacements as per the regulations."

"The BCCI cherishes its relationship with all the IPL Franchises. The rules are applicable to all of them," it added.
