SCG said last night the pitch was so green it would actually be good to bat in the first morning, then as it dries out and rollers start working, from 2nd innings on, it will get faster and more unplayable. So to that extent it was a good toss to lose, as Donny would have put Ozzies in had he won. Now let's hope our pacers come good.
Sourav was also critical of Ashwin, saying Ojha, with left arm spin, would have been better in the first two tests against the Ozzies, to exploit the marks left by RHB pacers and Oz weakness against left arm spin. He also said if Dhoni didn't give him fields he wanted, RA should have demanded them from MSD.

I wish they did and hung on there till end of day's play, score 250 odd and then put in the Ozmen. Not likely anymore.

Chappeli also said Sehwag needed to play naturally here (as opposed to first two tests), because of the bounce and carry. Unfortunately, he did exactly the opposite—tried to hit his way out in the first two tests, and then, chastised, tried to hang around with half-cock prods.

"I would have gone miles to see that 31" - ardent VVS fan

"God misses another century by just 85 runs" great SRT fan

"That's how he plays" - cheery Viru fan

"It was technically the most perfect way to get out to a yorker" - Fan on the Wall

"44 runs. It was lovely watching him bring all ten fingers to the pitch today." - future VK fan

We are still looking for a Gambhir fan. We are hopeful of finding one as soon as he finds his off stump.

:)
Specially for RD I was quite certain Aussies would go for the sticks rather than having him caught -just to dent Wall bit more.

With the pace grass grows in perth who knows tomorrow what is in store when the covers come out.
As per Ashwin- I think he was in team as a batsman :)
With Donny's fiasco of daring to bat in last game, I think Clarkey went with tradational thinking. I really believe the Australians know Perth wicket better than SCG. However, At this stage we should focus on playing the whole session without being greedy to wrap up our battings 15 overs early and looking for couple Oz's wickets today :)

The first ball after tea goes for 4 with the aggressive shot. So Donny is thinking different again :notworthy:

Zaheer and IS- two indian pacers already at two ends of pitch. Just need to replace the bat with ball...common guys it's getting late. I need to go to bed. Get out soon.
Really at this time I would like the Indians to bowl today and see how much ipl has honed their wicket taking skills:)

I hope, he is not getting affected by all the opinions flying around in the Aussie press and 'expert' circles.
India is currently suffering form the TINA factor, regarding Dravid and Laxman. We don't have able players to replace them...and so we have to live with whatever they can contribute....which is obviously not good enough for India.

I am not good at theory so I can't answer the question

Meanwhile we have to remove Yadav from the attack after just two overs and bring in an early season of T20 in the lovely form of Vinay kumar

And Warner is doing what Sehwag was supposed to do... can we hang Sehwag for giving DW his self-belief with his pep talk, posted earlier in some news report?
