Not a bad start by Somerset...15 off the first over from Brett Lee....but they have immediately lost Jones's wicket. van der Merwe in now..

Van der Merwe spent most of his time at RCB in IPL sitting on the bench. Now he has shown what he can do.

actually enjoying the cricket on show in this tournament so far. plenty of close games (incl  the qualifying tournament) and see-saw cricket. very interesting to watch and i dont know who to back.

tensionless enjoyment of cricket for once!

somerset has 4 full time left arm spinners in their squad. amazing. (all 4 played today!)

kkr has three of their own if you include unadkat!

Any crock of * dished up by the BCCI will be lapped up by our public I must say. This league is meaningless, mindless and utterly unnecessary. We have just returned from a debacle and will be heading for one soon - players could have done with a little down-time instead of being rushed into something that will give them a "red-bull" high for a short while after which they will be brought down to earth by Trent Copeland and co.

All we are doing is to provide material for Fletchers book post his India assignment wherein he will write how the powers that be in India look into their rear orifices and think that the world is a stinky dark place.....

anothre last baller! crazy!

yup was at the stadium for this one. The games are all fixed anyway but the cheer leaders were pretty and the food (Was in the corporate Executive stand) was awesome. Nothing like going to a ball game and getting a wonderful laid out desi buffet in an air conditioned lounge.

T&T seemed to be putting in a lot of heart into it.

Stadium was about 1/4 full since it was not a home game for anyone. But it was still good fun. LN would have had a good time :)

only watched the world t20 semis and final in england in 2009. would really like to go for an ipl game or an indian t20 intl.

good thing about the bangalore stadium is the noise. its closed like a cauldron (like the Bullring) which amplifies the acoustics. so even 25% full is fun.

i personally dont care about the crowd too much as long as the match is exciting.

didnt watch the game ystday as i was playing my own first t20 of the season here but it sounds like poor quality cricket from both teams that made the game close. good enjoyment though

Well I have known people to like all kinds of weird things. People follow curling. Others like to watch grass grow. So I guess we have to tolerate people who want to watch inferior cricket which hardly pays the players any money. We wont judge you for watching a sport where the players are so poor that they cant even afford to buy any color for their clothes.

They should look to merge Curling and Test cricket .... together maybe they can get a couple of people to come and watch?

Well, you should watch Snooker "world championship" (although it is only British players which BBC shows every three months or so. Nothing can be more boring than that since there is not even a lot of commentary. "World Darts Championship" is not much better. More interesting are the championships of "Carry your wife on your back and win the race" in Finland.

finally a boring match in the tournament.

trust that idiot gambhir to leave everything for yusuf to do (100 to win off 40-odd) and leaving a clean striker like doeschate inside till the 18th or 19th over.

you cant have shakib AND tiwary (who cannot slog - maybe someone should tell him this) AND kallis up the order above doeschate and pathan

Redbacks (or the 'Sackers' as Chappelli calls them) got it right by dropping Tait - good team

It's not the format of the game CP. It is this whole "club" concept that just puts me off.

BTW, thanks for enlightenment on "Curling". I didn't know that it was a sport. Next time might watch if it is being shown. :)

IMO, cricket is small enough that we can have just one world league comprised of clubs, with few or NO barriers for cricketers who want to play in other countries. there was a time when probably 25 Australians were good enough to play anywhere in the world at the intl stage but they were stuck in Australia. England is beginning to find itself in such a situation also.

I love the club concept because it promotes learning across cricket cultures and raises the level of the game.

If I had it my way most of cricket would be club-based - with a singular T20 league, or maybe two, and a champions league. Add to that club-based 50 over tournaments concluding in a worldwide playoff every year. And regular regional First Class cricket. so a KKR starts playing 4-day cricket against Colombo FC or whoever.

On top of that players could be away for international duty for country v country Tests (capped at 10 per year in an international league / tournament), or World Cups / Champions Trophy.

Can't stand this country v country BS. you only get a 'good' series probably once in a year.

Also, it sucks that some players can play for like 6 teams. What an idiotic system. You should have one team and you can be transferred for a fee with spending limits per team per year. wtf is this Kieron Pollard - he plays for T&T, WI, Somerset(?), Mumbai Indians, Sydney (?).

Rain stops play in Bengaluru.......but KKR well on top....83 for 1....as against the reqd 61/1 as per D/L.
KKR living upto it's billing after all!
The Warriors were going strong till now in the tournament......and now...suddenly a hiccup

KKR wins via D/L...well ahead of par score, to be fair.
Is that enough to carry them to S/F though?

They need somerset to lose their remaining 2 games, south australia to lose their remaining 1 game and (unlikely) hope that bangalore doesnt win their remaining 2 games by huge margins
