McDonald's gets a makeover

Will customers remain loyal when the fast-food chain changes its look for the first time in 30 years? Take a look at some of the new designs

In a bid to remain true to its advertising and marketing as a "forever young" brand, McDonald's has decided to embrace a contemporary design for its restaurants. This will be the first time in three decades that McDonald's is undertaking such a huge redesign of its 30,000 restaurants worldwide.

In redesigning its franchises, McDonald's faces a number of challenges. There's the sheer size of the world's largest hamburger chain, for one, and the fact that often McDonald's takes on the local flavor of its locations around the globe. Another challenge is that the company has thousands of franchisees who own and run their own restaurants. Convincing so many owners won't be easy, especially since they'll have to fund the redesign from their own pockets.

During the design process, the iconic brand has been careful not to rub out its carefully built image, even as it tries to adopt a modern look. The golden arches continue to get pride of place, and yellow has won out as the color of the future, while red has been downgraded. Read on for more.

Recently there was new that Macdonald was not doing any kind of checks on the people they were hiring. They recently hired a sex offender in thier company owned outlet. Then they fired him when they came to know he was a sex offender. That guy was then hired in a franchise. Fired from there and again hired in the company owned outlet.

This is specially dangerous because lot of kids are attracted to the Macdonald playgrounds and usually they play there unsupervised as parents are eating inside. Parents feel their kids are safe because these play areas are completely fenced. But an employee turning out to be a sex offender is dangerous. I heard in TV news that this situation is there in most Macdonal outlets throughout US.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

According to Le Chatelier:

The chicken crossed the road because there were too many moles of chicken
on the reactants side of the road equilibrium.
