Australian Open Update
« on: January 21, 2006, 08:47:39 PM »
Leander and Dechy defeated the top seeds in the opening round of mixed doubles AO.
Mahesh and Moodie won their 2nd round in men's doubles and will now face Leander and Damm.
Sania lost to Krajicek.

Here's a nice article about Indian tennis:

have you guys been watching Marcos Baghdatis's matches (he beat Andy Roddick, and is now through to the Men's Semis)? The support of the Greek troupe following him is UNBELIEVABLE. THEY are a raucous, aggressive, shirt-waving, face-painting lot. I dont remember such loud support in a tennis stadium since the Dubai Open, when the Indians showed up to cheer Sania Mirza.
Fantastic!

Thay are a great bunch!...similar to Croatian crowd, whenever they followed the footbal team or Goran Ivanicevic in tennis.
