this is what i was saying on the other thread...now everyone will follow every ireland game to the finish. it just takes 1 game.

and the same will happen when bangla beats WI or England (you know its got to happen).

plenty of good games this world cup. and plenty to come. no reason to grumble.

out of the 27 group games left i feel at least a third will be crackers. and at least 14 or so by my count are good ones on paper.

Sure. Shane Warne is now under the suspicion by the Pakistanis that he fixed he match between England and India because he predicted on his Twitter that the match may be a tie. Ijaz Butt wants Warne to be tried and punished. I am sure they will find some excuse here as well.

What an incredible match. Of course, Ireland is my favorite team outside of India, so this was not unexpected. In fact, loss to Bangladesh was.

Until now, ICC has almost always rewarded singular victories over test nations with a test berth (kenya being the only exception), but they are not even giving ODI status to this Irish team...that's not right. C'mon BCCI. In fact, ireland beating India may just do wonders for the game.

Wow! I expected that they may well beat WI. Or even a top team if that team's batting disintegrates. Overhauling 327 is no joke. Note that just a few years ago, any top team would not be able to score 327 to win. I have not watched the match, but this suggests they are way ahead of where even test status is awarded.

i dont know about best of all time...didnt yusuf play a similar knock against NZ?

it definitely is one of the sweetest moments in recent history - a nobody and a no-hoper team vanquishing an old enemy, a strong team and chasing such an improbable total.

best knock in WC history? it's definitely up there - Kapil's 175 pips it in terms of a back-from-the-dead effort.
