Preview
Pak resumes from overnight score 379/4.
India needs quick wickets to peg back Pak a little. Anything less than 500 is job done OK for India.
Spinners need to come into the groove quick and easy.
H Singh might be playing his last Test in the series, if he continues the way he has been doing.
Pak find his bowling good for scoring quick runs.
Kumble - 1st day pitch is not ideal for him. Warne does not even bowl his full "quota" on 1st day pitches.
Kudos to bowlers to taking the heat from Pak's inform batters.

Day 2 will decide a lot - surely will dictate how day 3 unfolds.

Hmmm, even 500 is a tad high for India, considering we r in with a batsman short.

However, 500 is OK considering the current match situation.
If they score 600 or more (quite possible), then 5 bolwer decision has gone to the dawgs

Unless he's getting some swing, you can't expect IP to run through a line-up...after all he doesn't have raw pace.

Kumble wudnt be able to run thru on the first day on a flat track. Most spinners would find that tough, warne included, unles the batting was poor

like i have said on another thread pathan has developed a flaw in his grip needs to correct that before he is successful. i am sure everybody is working on that. wasim akram we need you here lol.

Holding said he has spoken to Chappell about Pathan's grip problem.
They have been working on it for some time now.

Pak have already (or going to sooner than later) bat us OUT of the Test. So, this becomes a Test for us to "save", rather than 'force a win'. These pitches are designed to assist team batting first.
