Any interest in Champions League?
« on: September 10, 2010, 11:00:07 AM »
Assuming there is no match fixing, will this be an interesting tournament?

If there is match fixing, Mumbai will lose today.

none whatsoever. I think we have already been over fed on crappy cricket over the past few months. The extra acidity caused by the Match fixing events has caused further anguish and now partaking in the stale dessert section might just lead to full blown gastro.

Sourav 'Dada' Ganguly in the commentary box. Sounds eerily similar to Russel Arnold.. Ho hum.  ::Whip::

Well, considering their status as "full of super stars" they are being taken to the cleaners..

Well some other people might have preferred to call them Mumbai Marathi's.

Warriors look like another low-key but well-balanced side. Both Boje & Botha play for them and can be a handful in slow conditions.

I dont think Mumbai will qualify for the semi final. I'm expecting Chennai & Bangalore to reach semi as both the teams are much stronger than Mumbai

Looking at Badri's performance yesterday, I wonder why he did not capitalise on the chances he got and more than that why the likes of Rohit Sharma got more chances than him.. I still hope it is not too late for Badri

Interesting and as usual clear cut view by Geoffrey Boycott (somewhere in the middle) on the on-going CL Tournament. Also, towards the end, his views on match-fixing and Pakistan are very good.

Sachin, Dada and Pollard - The very best

It was a remarkable win for Mumbai Indians and what was even more remarkable was Pollard's brutal attack on Guyanese bowlers. Interestingly, before all of that happened, there was something even more remarkable. When Sachin met Dada before the start of the match and the two were seen talking cricket.

What a moment.. Sachin as a cricketer and Dada as a commentator. when the two came together before the start of the match, surely Mumbai Indians' poor form was the subject of conversation.

Sachin: Dada, we have lost two in a row. Tell me what to do now?

Quote

Dada: Go tell your bowlers to pitch it up.

Sachin: Dwayne, pitch it up.
Dwayne: no, dem gonna lick 'em.
Sachin: Dada said so.
Dwayne: me hear ya mon.

Yeah right it is even more remarkable that Ganguly got his 2 minutes with Sachin and I am sure spectators came to see that more than the game itself in SA. ::)  How many times have we seen such pictures when ex-cricketers turned commentators on the field before the game chatting to players like SRT, RD, VVS etc (Arun Lal, Shastri, Siva, Gavaskar, Manjrekar etc) and yet this is remarkable.  ::)

Speaking of jealousy I think the below qualifies as a better example when Ganguly was not even close to being a candidate when an all-time Indian XI was selected. :)  Ganguly fanatics sure know a thing or two about jealousy.

Well done Chennai. They have been consistently good in all matches. They did not lose a single match except for that unfortunate Super-Over match.
