Agree with the commentator.. send BM/CG to open and start putting a dent in the NRR. They should be chasing 140 at most
What commentators?  No matter what they do there are not making to the SF's period.  Anyone seriously think that this team is capable of climbing over 3 others team that have more points and better NRR.
If CSK and DC lose their matches, KKR still has a chance ..they just need the NRR to go above DC's which is at -0.36 and will fall if they lose
You sound like a typical KKR fan.  All if's and but's which want few of the better teams to fall wayside while hoping a bottom placed team to work miracles in their final two games.
I was just painting a scenario.. not sounding like a fan.

KKR has to do what it has to do.. win games and win big.. they cant think of other teams. In that context, I wanted BM/CG to open.

BTW, SG has not done bad in the first over
You sounded like one to me generally seeing your posts on KKR over the past few days.  May be you are a closet KKR fan who knows?  That is fine too. :)
Whatever..
Frankly, after a very busy week of travel and meetings .. 4 cities in 5 days .. I got up early today (4AM PHX) and am finally watching some cricket.
WoW.  That is a lot of travel for a week.  Hope it is not this way week in and week out.

its a piece of cake for CEO's like him.

26 from 36.. they should score it in 10-12 balls, imo.

Excellent .. well played Dada.. I think they are within striking distance in NRR of DC. Now other chips have to fall in place for them.

if CSK and DC to lose..Monday will be fun

Not impressed by Pujara. Mathews should have been sent in or even Tiwari or Shukla.

That was really bush league by Warne there.

Bowling a non regular bowler in the 16th.  He owes it to the rest of the teams and the IPL by trying his regulars.

Totally uncalled for.

The initial spark of the match came from Shukla, more than anyone else. RR were coasting
before he contributed to 2 wickets. And SG batted RR out of the match.

cmon. RR batted RR out of the match. you cant defend 132.

Desh ka Roton Shukla saved KKR with a loopy bouncer that he dragged down. cant believe Watto missed that. then his catch was incredible.

no point blaming the team...6 wins is pretty decent. warne is the longest-retired player in the IPL and is still one of its most competitive players. yusuf is a nobody he made a somebody. watto came in too late in the day to have a lasting impact.

the rest were either nobodies or not utilized properly.

madus need to spend some money next year

There is no doubt Warne did the most starting with the least talent. He should continue as coach at least, if not as a player.

Unfortunately talent is needed. An Asnodkar or Ojha can pull off a good performance here and there but probably not much more.

RR did bat very badly, as did RCB today. Almost KKR-like!

By the way, the pitch was not very batting-friendly today. For the likes of Pathan, probably not true enough to club balls. There was spin and low bounce and it was slow.

In one over, Dinda bowled a couple at 131, got a wicket with a slower one (116k), bowled a Venkatesh Prasad at 98k and Unadkat bowled several "OMG, he is slower than Ganguly" balls.

Couldn't watch the match live but watched the entire match in replay.

Very very good effort by KKR to keep RR to 132. Dada catch of YP would have made Jonty proud. Awesome effort. It clearly looked like he was playing his heart out in this game. And then finishing it off... brilliant. That's the Dada of old, that everyone wants to see. The icing on the cake would have been if KKR had scored these runs in 13-14 overs, to bring down their negative NRR.

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: to Dada. Points table would have looked different had KKR put this kind of effort earlier.

KKR can only qualify, if CSK lose. A CSK win kicks KKR out.

If DC loses as well as CSK then a win against Mumbai by 10 runs or so would qualify KKR.

A win in the last match in 13 overs would have brought that down by a few runs, but I guess ensuring a win was important as well.

If CSK loses.....and if DC wins, then KKR can qualify if they beat MI by 120 runs or so.
If they had won the RR match in 13 overs the necessary winning margin  would come down to 95 or so.

worth risking the win perse? I dont think so. When they lost the two wickets early, ensuring the win was more important than anything else. whether it hapenned in 13 overs or 16 will matter little.

Not sure this is accurate..."KKR can only qualify, if CSK lose. A CSK win kicks KKR out."

If this happens, KKR can still qualify with a MASSIVE win over MI?

This is probably the last time we have seen Shane Warne in action. We will certainly miss him and IPL will not be the same.

dont be so sure :)

his spell against DC was the highlight of the entire RR campaign for me. looks like he's still bowling decently.

he will almost certainly be around for a coaching role. heck you might want to have him in the 15 so he can come on the field and be the captain as a sub!
