Wriddhiman Saha?
« on: December 26, 2009, 05:39:56 AM »
We have had a ton of threads berating KKD and generally everyones feeling was that he is just an ok keeper etc. Isn't this kid Saha really good both behind and front of the wickets?

He should have been blooded in Bangers series and even Dhoni should have taken casual leave

KKD is terrible behind the stumps. He is a good bat, tho prone to rashness. Actually, he is a good straw man to deflect attention, i think! if u limit the choice to two, then ppl will not notice the glaring incompetence of the current system.

There is no way anyone gets ahead of Dhoni for the first keeper's spot.

Between KKD and Saha, I think the former has demonstrated more results with the bat - straightforward choice for me.

Would it not be better for Dhoni to operate purely as a skipper and batsman rather than add on a third dimension? we have seen him cramping up after long innings many times therefore it would be better if we can have a better keeper and Dhoni allowed to concentrate on his batting more than anything else.

I don't know. It has to be his call. Meanwhile on batting grounds I prefer KKD to Saha at this point because we have seen him do well at the international level - including the tougher conditions in England. It would be good to see Saha get a few chances on A tours so that we find out what he is capable of with the bat.

these regionalists will complain no matter how logical the choice is.

very clearly kakadi has been a much better bat and has already done it at the international level. Thats the argument used by these same gangulians for keeping ganguly in the team despite the fact that we had better replacements in domestics.

so being and performing in international was good enough for crappy ganguly but not good enough for kakadi (just because he is a madrasi instead of a bengali). shame on these regionalists!
