Watched Hurt Locker last weekend - watchable once, but not a Oscar winner worthy, movie meandered along, seemed like another one of those American glorification of war movies..... Invectus was more worthy of winning the best movie compared to Hurt Locker or Avatar (only other I watched from nomination list).

Have not watched Hurt Locker, but between Avatar and Invictus, clearly the latter is far better.

agreed completely....kept waiting for some action, some twist etc., it just ambled along and ended on a wimper.

Badmaash Company - Bunty Aur Babli Part II, from the same makers, but this time, a cheap imitation. Picking up Bunty Aur Babli DVD is a better option than watching this in the theaters

ROCKET SINGH - SALESMAN OF THE YEAR - A dialogue goes "there are qualities that take you up & those that take you down in every person." The same can be said for the movie. Too idealistic, preachy & silly in parts, it is still worth a watch for some excellent performances & its feel good factor. You may even come back with some tips on how to approach that year end review & targets meeting!

Watched pasrts of it yesterday on tv. The movie had some terrible dialogues !! The best was the following :

Rocket Singh’s friend : Why do you want to take the risk ?
Rocket Singh : Even Spiderman takes risks, why shouldn’t I ? I’m just a salesman !!!!

Raavan: biggest let down. I watched hindi version and still not fully recovered from the shit. Abhi acted as if he is competing with himesh and Aish seems to confuse screaming with acting.to top it all and at the same time, Mani wanted to compete with RGV's AAG.after all this if you are still brave, go watch it. Also some idiots are raving about photography, nature etc., if that's what you want, subcribe to national geographic channel and watch it at home.

I watched the tamil version. It was not terrible by itself, but coming from Mani Ratnam, it was terrible and full of holes. I can't believe this is the same director who took Talapathi (modern day Karna), which was probably Rajini's best as an actor.

The main problem in this movie was the characters were never given enough time to develop, which is one of Mani's forte. ... Not sure why the movie was curtailed to 2 hrs, could have easily been a far better made movie of 2.5-3 hours. Vikram acted quite well. Prithviraj had a lesser role, but did well. Aish was terrible, once again showing that she just cannot act.

Time to watch one of Mani Ratnam's old classics this weekend to forget this black mark. Maybe its time for him to retire....
