I know Blwe posted the above article just to highlight Ganguly's score(he is so predictable) but if ones pays attention there was another young man from the the same Bengal team that scored 149 to Ganguly's 87.

Anyway the reason for my post now is later tonight Karnataka meets Bengal in the SF of the Haraze trophy at a neutral venue.  That means it is RD vs SG unless SG decides to sit out as he has done in the recent past.

Let us see what happens with the game.

In fact we should give more importance to this match than the meaningless game played between India vs SA later tonight.
In fact 'The Hindu' has a nice preview on the game.  Below is the link.

Despite RD's presence the loss of Mithun to national duties will be huge loss for Karnataka and with Bengal boasting a better bowling line up with Bose, Dinda and Shukla in its line up they have the edge in this one.  Let us wait and see how this one plays out.

This is anything but a SG/RD thing. In any case it can not be o more importance than the ODI.

One important reason, SG is not part of any Indian team anymore.

Quit this SG specific agenda, which you will have to at some time, and you will feel exhilarated
I am not Blwe.  You are addressing the wrong person though I agree with your premise.   We do not just have to highlight Ganguly's score alone especially when there are other better performers in the same side.  I am not sure what agenda he might have.

If my highlighting of SG's score irks you...I can't help it.
Atleast my agenda is not that of hate. :)
I am not so sure about the hate part.   I need to review you posts on RD, GC, RP and other Aussies and get back to you.

Tiwary happy to have contributed
A STAFF REPORTER

Calcutta: He was the top-scorer (76) for Bengal in the final of last year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy, against Tamil Nadu.

On Saturday, Manoj Tiwary played the anchor’s role to perfection as he led Bengal to a four-wicket victory over formidable Karnataka in the semi-final in Vadodara, to set up a final date with, you guess it, Tamil Nadu.

Asked about his crucial knock at the Motibagh Palace Ground, the stylish right-hander said: “I walked in at a difficult juncture today… Dadi (Sourav Ganguly) had just been dismissed and soon after Arindam (Das), who was playing so well, perished. So, it was imperative for me to stay at the middle till the end of the innings to ensure victory. I’m happy to have performed my role well.”

The middle-order batsman also revealed that Rahul Dravid had a word of praise for him. “He did congratulate and praise me for my innings,” said Manoj.

Also elated was Laxmi Ratan Shukla, under whose captaincy Bengal have now made three successive Vijay Hazare finals.

“It was an outstanding performance by the team. Arindam and Sreevats gave us a solid start and, then, Manoj was brilliant in seeing us through,” he said.
