Poor captaincy by RP. He should have not given the 3rd over for Lee. Gayle is good against pace. He should have slowed it up there..

Frankly, I never thought I would say this.. but the Aussies could use Warne's captaincy and Gilly, Hayden & Symmo in their team.

I don't think Watson was supposed to bowl - he's recovering from an injury and the sense was that he's not going to bowl before the Ashes. But they had no choice.

I think RP should have opened with Bracken against Gayle - not Lee or Johnson. He may also have been murdered but atleast he would have had a better chance in my view.

This is the problem with those who captain in traditional forms of the game.. they dont spot the issues fast enough and make changes. I would not have continued with Lee/Johnson after their first overs.. and slowed the pace down immediately. These are the things good captains in IPL were doing right away...they developed a keen nose for events

Anyway, I think most captains would look silly when the likes of Gayle or Gilly or Sehwag get going. You can only do so much.

What a high ball - and a well judged catch - Gayle goes -truly a captain's knock.
