Well apparently Bangalore have made three changes. Very convenient I must say. Pietersen, when asked if there were any changes in the squad replied, "Not that I know of" or something to that effect.

Ross Taylor, Vinay Kumar and Pankaj Singh come in. Karan Sharma, Bishnoi and Steyn go out. Twenty20 and the art of confusion indeed. Let's cross our fingers and hope the Punjab team is the same as below.
what a mess this has been from BRC. Worse than last time. At least we had a team management who all had the same idea whether it was good or bad

Good for Bose.

Coming to the line up I like the Kings 11 line up better than the BRC 11. They seemed to have more depth in bowling with Irfan counting as a full fledged bat and that swayed them to get that extra bowler. Good move. I do not see great bowling depth for BRC with the line up they went with and unless they get to 180 plus Kings 11 will chase this down.

Great start by BRC after 4 overs. With KP and RD to follow they are looking good for a big total here the best way for them to get ahead in this game given a relatively thin bowling line up.

Toss Bangalore Royal Challengers chose to bat v Kings XI PunjabLive scorecard and ball-by-ball details

After being on the wrong end of two rain-affected results, Kings XI Punjab were finally treated to sunny skies in Durban. However, the toss did not go their way and Kevin Pietersen gave Bangalore Royal Challengers first use of ideal batting conditions at Kingsmead.

Bangalore decided to persist with Jesse Ryder, who was out for a duck in both games, but made three other changes to the team. They left out Dale Steyn and gave the fourth overseas spot to Ross Taylor in an attempt to strengthen their batting. The two other changes were Rajesh Bishnoi and Karan Sharma being replaced by R Vinay Kumar and Pankaj Singh.

"Thank god it's sunny," a relieved Yuvraj said, adding that he would have batted first as well. Punjab made two changes to their XI, bringing in medium-pacer Ranadeb Bose and Wilkin Mota for Taruwar Kohli and Vikramjeet Malik.

It's a crucial game for both teams. Bangalore suffered two consecutive losses after a resounding victory in their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders, while Kings XI Punjab lost by the D/L method against both Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata. A victory for Bangalore will take them to the top half of the points table.

"I was happy to see Chintu Singh in the squad though. He is young, talented, very accurate and regularly troubles even Calypso in the nets. I felt Lordie wanted either him or Little John to bowl the super over. And for when we were batting, Lordie was all ready to go in himself. He was all warmed up and stroking well and any man with half a brain would've sent him. But hey! In the era of IT, you got to go with what the laptop says, right?
