Aakash has just replied. It is not him.
Thanks CLR.  I think this stuff is too silly for someone who played at the highest level to waste their time on.

The guy whoever is on the blog has no clue on the KKR operations.

He appears to be a Ganguly fan and a copy cat who stole the nick names from various sources.

Just like some of the bloggers he has too much time on hand.

On another note I DO NOT think Akash Chopra has ever visited this DG.

the fact that he reports from the ground should be a give away. You just cant do that when you have a cricket game even if you are on the bench. The teams expect everyone to participate.

Its a fake
I think the fact that he is not in the team and does not have direct knowledge of the inner goings on.. is clear.

Look at the votes on the poll.. it is overwhelming that he is an outsider.

The issue in my mind (and quite a few others) still is .. is this SRK/KKR approved/endorsed/suported or not?

How can you say convincingly that he never visited this DG?!

His 'inside sources' at Hyderabad told him so!

Coming to the topic of discussion, knowing how good a marketing strategist SRK is, I wouldn't be surprised if he is actually paying someone to do this. Heck, look at the number of comments the blog has generated, surely folks are going to follow KKR games to check up on the veracity of the blog.

Now, the issue of it not being a player on the bench - Don't players have access to the internet? I am sure they at least own a mobile phone. We could have a 'bookie' kind of issue wherein a player or an owner reveal information to a friend who then blogs it for them.

A player in team will hardly dare such an adventure unless recession hit him so badly that he is in self destructive mood. It is easy to pick the writer in a select few people. The way this thing caught up in couple of days, nobody wants to get of the team in mid series.
This thing now seems to be controlled from India.

Finding humour in rumour

Posted by Judhajit 19 minutes ago in Indian Premier League

The mystery of the "fake IPL player" deepens. Kolkata Knight Riders coach Matthew Mott confirmed the anonymous, eponymous blog has been a talking point within the team, although stopped well short of describing the matter as a distraction.

The blogger, whose online following has expanded with each of his 25 entries, insists his work has created a maelstrom within the Knight Riders squad, culminating in a team-wide witch-hunt and a confiscation of laptops. But while admitting to curiosity as to whether the blogger is, as claimed, a member of the team, Mott said the postings were being viewed light-heartedly by the Knight Riders.

"It's a bit of a joke in the squad," Mott told Cricinfo. "There is something going on, but I have only read a bit of one (blog entry) on someone else's laptop, so I can't say whether it's close to the mark or just someone making good guesses. It has been raised but at this stage we're treating it with humour. I'd still be interested to know who it is, though."

'Poison pen' spills KKR beans on blog

Sreemoy Talukdar

April 22, 2009

Mumbai: After the four captains debate and the debacle of its first match in IPL 2, the Kolkata Knight Riders is facing a new threat: an unidentified blogger.

Secure in the anonymity that the internet provides, a Knight Rider has apparently started a blog revealing team strategy, inside information and gossip on what goes on at team meetings, in the dressing room, or even in more private spheres.

While the posts' authenticity cannot be confirmed, the buzz that his blogs has generated among cricket followers, twitters and bloggers has forced the KKR team management to come out with an official reaction.

Joy Bhattacharya, CEO, Knight Riders, said, "There is a blogspot which a team member showed me this morning (April 19) which purports to be from a member of the KKR entourage. Poison pen writing of the dirtiest variety, but far too many factual errors. Whoever it is out there is obviously very sick, perverted and has far too little information or insight to successfully pretend to be a part of us."

While the jury is out on who the 'Fake IPL Player' could be, his writing betrays knowledge of the goings-on of a team and the daily grind in the lives of players on tour.

Some are named, while others have unambiguous nicknames such Lord Almighty (Sourav Ganguly), Calypso King (Chris Gayle) or Sheikh of the Tweak (Shane Warne).

In his latest post on Monday, the blogger says the team management has "started a witch hunt to ferret out the mole within 24 hours" and that "four youngsters have been shortlisted". But he is "not on the list".
