Adams tips Jordan as one to watch

Barbados-born Jordan moved to England at the age of 15.

Surrey manager Chris Adams believes young all-rounder Chris Jordan is destined to become an international player of the future.

Barbados-born Jordan, 20, has signed a two-year contract extension keeping him at The Oval until 2011.

Adams told BBC London 94.9: "I've seen, in his talent alone, a player I believe will play international cricket.

"His immediate future is at this club, which is great and very important as we're building a club for the future."

Jordan, who spent last winter on the ECB elite fast bowler development programme, moved to England at the age of 15 and holds a British passport through his grandmother.

Adams added: "Chris is a player that, if I'm honest, I hadn't really seen a lot of before I came here.

"I've had a few months now to work with him, have a good look at him, find out the character behind the cricketer and he's been tremendous.

"He's mature beyond his years - still very, very young, but he talks like an experienced pro.

"He's a genuine all-rounder. I wouldn't like to say at this moment that he's a better bowler or batter, (but) it's with the ball that he's had the initial impact."
