Toss Mumbai Indians chose to bat v Kolkata Knight Riders

Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Sachin Tendulkar wore a rather determined look when he decided Mumbai Indians would bat against Kolkata Knight Riders at St George's Park. The skies were clear and Tendulkar's decision gave Mumbai first use of a good track and what remained of the natural light.

Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni got taken for 18 in an over against Deccan Chargers and lost his place as the side went in with an extra batsman. The candidate this time was Saurabh Tiwary, the left-hand batsman who was part of the victorious Under-19 team in 2008.

Kolkata made one change. A wayward Ajit Agarkar was left out and in came Arindam Ghosh for his first match.

Mumbai and Kolkata are tied on the points table with three each but Kolkata have played an extra match. Both sides are coming off defeats.

Teams

Mumbai: 1 Sanath Jayasuriya, 2 Sachin Tendulkar (capt), 3 Shikhar Dhawan, 4 JP Duminy, 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Abhishek Nayar, 7 Saurabh Tiwary, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Pinal Shah (wk), 10 Zaheer Khan, 11 Lasith Malinga.

Kolkata: (probable) 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Brendon McCullum (capt/wk), 3 Laxmi Shukla, 4 Brad Hodge, 5 Sourav Ganguly, 6 Yashpal Singh, 7 (anybody), 8 Arindam Ghosh, 9 Ishant Sharma, 10 Ajantha Mendis, 11 Anureet Singh.
