How many of you use it?

If you use it, have you found it useful? if yes, in which way

I find it fairly incomprehensible .. specially when the person you are following is having a conversation with someone and you get to see only one side of things.

Never used it ... but a few people at work have used these to twitter thoughts when we send them to conferences etc. Its a good addition to them blogging their trips to share information

Erm, since when is 1 character = 1 byte ?

not usually as far as I know.

Unless the English version is governed by a 140 character limit and the Japanese version by a 140 byte limit, I cant see how WN had his facts right

kban, you are right that Twitter has a 140 byte limit. But 1 normal English character is at the least 1 byte. With UTF8, it becomes worse, i.e., one kanji character used to capture Japanese or Chinese could map from 1 to even 6  bytes in Twitter. Imagine if you were Japanese  >:D
