Delhi - 6
« on: February 21, 2009, 08:37:02 AM »
Enjoyed it till 3/4ths of the movie.. the climax was awful.

Excellent development of the group of characters and played well by ensemble cast. Abhishek just cant act saala!

Sonam is refreshing.

Finally, Rahman... OMG.. he has excelled again. Brilliant songs and music. This guy is getting better and better. Incredible.

Go see it once.

Going to see it tomorrow...thanks to my wife....who has already done the needful of booking tickets online, etc.
Normally I enjoy the old Govinda type of movies, if at all.......I am a little circumspect about serious movies :)
But now that you are recommending it.......hopefully it will be fine.

awful. GOD. i think we were spoilt in 2008 by a spate of good movies, and come to expect good quality.

terrible disappointment. i want to sing 'picture bayankar' with the tune from that song in billu barber.

sorry, but a movie framed around the monkey-man 'KALA BANDAR' is not worth my money!!!

i got it, i saw what he was trying to do with the movie - take colorful characters and incorporate them into a storyline about someone coming back from aamrica and observing - but really the center line of the movie was abysmal.

i liked it in parts, and great music too, but the last third of the movie made me groan in agony.

sonam kapoor is cute.

Haha mixed reviews here too ...story of delhi 6 - some have given it 4 stars, some 1.5!!

Haven't seen it ...but Rakyesh Mehra somehow manages to goof up the end - remember Aks and even RDB (to some extent) - although the cast managed to carry it off well in the latter.

Yeah....just back from the film...................not bad.....certainly not 1.5.
As usual, these movies tend to mess it up in the end.. ....but anyway, it was acceptable :)

Disappointing!

While the end was comical (I wish he had stopped it before the ambulance comes in), even the main parts of the movie failed to grip me (as say an RDB did) - mainly, I think, because Abhishek could not rise above his usual average level.

Technically it was a very well made movie and kudos to ROPM however for an original and innovative take on things such as superstition, religion etc (who would have imagined using kaala bandar to make a point :D).

Finally, I think this is a prime example of what Sudhir Mishra had to say about A R Rehman - without his music, several movies would have just fallen apart - take Rehman out of Dilli 6 and you'd be left with almost nothing! He binds the movie together - doing what AB is unable to do.Clearly a superior album to Slumdog Mill in all ways. And, a special mention to Prasoon Joshi - the lyrics are works of genius - keep listening to Arziyaan!!

I'd say 2.5 / 5

So, was your return planned to coincide with the tour to Kiwiland or was that just a coincidence?
