Smith goes, but only 50 ish runs are left. Australia will need a miracle to pull it off.

38.3 Johnson to McKenzie, FOUR, up comes his fifty with a faulty shot, reaching out and steering a very wide ball fast and very low to Hayden's right at first slip, he clutches at the ball as it dips on him and muffs a very tough chance .. by Hayden's standards it has to go down as a drop

Wow.. the aussies have been mentally disintegrated here.

I think Steyn played a role too in holding up one end ... in fact he may have scored more than half the runs in that partnership. And then he also picked up 10 wickets. Duminy obviously played a wonderful knock, and together they brought SAF a very unlikely victory. If I had to pick one of them, I would agree with the pick of Steyn.

With the series done and dusted all that remains to be seen is how the Aussie selectors go about their business. I was extremely surprised that they decided to go in with a half fit Symonds and that Lee kept his spot for this Test. Now Hayden too will feel the heat.

this group of selectors is quite different than the previous one...the last one would kick out the likes of bevan for no good reason...this one can't even kick out hayden after multiple failures

i waited for 20 minutes at home to  see the winning runs before i left for office, it was worth it, imagine we used to call amla walking wicket :)

this is really an epoch test and will go down as the day the aussies had to rethink cricket in australia

well done SAF selectors for showing the faith in Grame Smith

If one thought previous match was the 'nadir' for this australian team this is worse. What a session by these two young players to take the lead for SA.
Some notes on that II session :
- RP dropping a fairly easy catch in second slip
- MH dropping an easy skier. Why do they even wear those sun glasses if they don't help you in catching high balls?
- Paul Harris is the best spinner among these two teams
- Aus carrying multiple people with injuries in the final XI such as Symmonds, B.Lee( may have suffered during the match)
- Not even trying Katich who is better than Hussey at least.
- RP not having slip fielders for Steyn for spinners. How defensive can one get ?
I don't know how many of you saw this. One of the funniest sights in recent memory especially if seen in slow motion. I have seen fielders looking perplexed but here Mr. Cricketer seemed to be positively panicking.

I think they will drop Hayden for the dead rubber and will give RP notice to move on from captaincy. He has been fairly unimaginative in his captaincy - of course, their  bowling has gone to the toilet.

I doubt ....

1. Murali on a 5th day
2. 250+ with only 2 recognised batsmen on crease
