This time, Sehwag & Dravid get booed

Mumbai, March 22: Two days after he was booed as he walked back to the pavilion, Sachin Tendulkar was applauded on his way to the crease and back as he made 34, the highest score in India’s second innings, which folded for 100. However, Sehwag and Dravid were victims of the boos this time around. At the presentation area, initially only Dravid and Kumble along with Greg Chappell and Ian Frazer were present — the rest of the team members joined them much later. Needless to say, they were booed too while Flintoff and Co. were wildly cheered.

The English cricket team, unlike the Indian one, values its fans just too much. That was evident when Flintoff and his band went all the way up to the stands where the boisterous Brits were seated, and thanked them for their support. After doing a round at the pavilion end, Freddie and his boys ran all the way up to the far end to express their gratitude to another battalion of the Barmy Army. In fact, the English players raised their arms and clapped wherever they found the English flags. Can’t imagine the Indian team doing all that, at home or abroad.

Indian humiliating defeat at the Wankhede reminded the cricket fans of Sourav Ganguly yet again. Even as captain Rahul Dravid was speaking at the prize distribution function, the chant "we want Sourav… we want Sourav" reverberated in the stadium. The ‘Sourav’ chant grew louder as the hapless Indians hung their heads in shame.

Has there been a Bong takeover of Mumbai? You mean to say, then, that the Shiv Sena drive against Bengalis in the city has at the least a statistical basis in some truth!!!
