12.4 Harbhajan Singh to Katich, no run, quick again, on leg stump, Katich defends and the ball takes his glove and then pad, but Gambhir at short leg is late to react and cannot get there, the extra bounce did it for Katich

yes prob no one would have stopped that 4 but what smg was saying that there was not even an effort from sg's side to try and stop that and the least he could have done was to dive and maybe get some finger tips to it.
again the issue raised by smg was not stopping the ball but trying ot do so which was lacking.

So cricinfo dictates you should keep your eyes open

i trust my own eyes than others'(esp. jaundiced) eyes.

if SMG's opinions are the "truth", why not Yardley's as well?

what cricinfo does not mention is he saved it from being a 2!

Don't know what went wrong with this shout; perhaps the long stride saved him. Replays showed it was going to hit top of middle, expectedly Kumble is not impressed

Apparently, there was another close call ... this time Kumble got it, but not given. From the cricinfo commentary, it seems that it would have been genuinely hard to get that decision right.

I found it strange that Kumble turned around and appealed after taking the catch - if it is a clear catch, should he not just celebrate?
