Well, I think Mr. Maverick has done himself in now. Gallup polls show that only 10 percent of the people (14 by some accounts) want the debate to be postponed. I think McCain the stubborn old man will want to not show up, but I doubt his advisors will let him do so.
He really dug himself a hole by taking such an absolute position on it and didn't leave himself any room to maneuver.

Apparently, Bill Clinton is praising him! So, maybe it is not such a bad move?
