the idea of the appeal is a stupid concept in the first place. why should the player have to beg the umpire

You are right. This win proves conclusively that every decision of Dhoni, including his shoddy handling of Badri and to a lesser extent Virat is correct.

Dhoni took a big decision to leave out the seniors. If he wins in the long run, he deserves due credit. If not, he deserves some (and only some) blame. We lost one badly and then won two. Tiime for chest thumping already?
