no way. this is totally changing the game into a clay game which suits players like nadal and puts players like federer, rafter, ivanesvic, and sampras at a tremendous disadvantage. it is good to have variation of surfaces...much like pitches in cricket.

Agree, Wimbledon is boring these days when compared to yesteryears .There was a great chance for the serve and volley players. Now it is a basically a slug fest here also.

Yesteryears = late 70s/early 80s or 90s.. i prefer the former

I think it gives chance to an ivanesevic-like player only if they have some ground game.. which is good.

match is fine but different players have different strengths and one isnt any better than the other. if this surface was even a little bit slower, federed would have great difficulty winning games as the serves wouldnt come out as strong. already, nadal has too much time with shots because the ball is coming slower relative to previous years. a lot of times when federer is approaching the net, nadal is able to go past him for that reason. i depend on my serves a lot, so i can sympathize...luckily US college matches are played on hardcourt

I see your point from a player's perspective.. but from a spectator's pov, this is much better.. there is still sufficient pace in the grass here.. just not as much as old times..
