IPL 2008 - Match 44 : KKR vs RR
« on: May 19, 2008, 11:02:37 PM »
if KKR lose at home .. they are out.

Hope they play with their full bowling strength - SA, UG, IS, Dinda...and put the opponents in to bat!

he is nursing an injury... from the last game

"He came to the tournament under-prepared. Here, he has given his 100%. But his knee is a problem now. We will monitor him for the next couple of days to see when he can play."
John Buchanan, the Kolkata coach, provides the latest on Shoaib's injury

This is a no brainer... RR will win hands down

SG seems to have a fixation on win toss and bat... with a bowling like that, he should look at restricting / bowling out the opposition and chase down a target.

It is all over for KKR in this edition of IPL... flattered to deceive ...moreso after the inaugural match and the close ones against Delhi and BRC

Shoaib will continue to have knee and ankle problems unless he reduces his weight. There is significant flab along with muscles that he carries there -- this is not  a fast bowler's physique - infact he has bulked up progressively over the years without getting lean where he needs to be. I wonder who designs his fitness program ? or does he do it himself ?

Except Ben Johnson was all muscle

Shoaib has significant flab in his upper body and thighs

Umar Gul in for the injured Shoaib Akhtar. That's the only change for Kolkata. Salman Butt is slated to open with Mohammad Hafeez. There's bound to be a bit of needle here, especially after the Warne-Ganguly face off after the previous game in Jaipur. Strangely Ganguly was in time for the toss here. Something fishy. Hmm.

I believe less than they paid for Ishant. The latter is yet to win a match by himself.

Some doubt but I hope the umpires will at least be consistent.

Ravi Shastri, like Ruchir, makes no attempt to hide his anti-KKR bias.

SG hits a 6....

PRFSR -- there was no doubt about the LBW. Pitched on middle stump and going on to hit the middle stump.

It was high. I have certainly seen umpires not give those out.

The ball was not barely touching the stump, it was hitting middle stump under the bails. Many umpires don't give this out, and many does. Today it was given out....

KKR are turning it on, meanwhile....

That's why they are scoring at 6.55, last 5 overs at 9. I love to see your discomfort at KKR doing even marginally well.

while im not very invested in IPL...i have to say, you cannot possibly be serious about that dismissal, esp. given that you like doing bitframe analysis! i checked cricinfo...even they don't think it was clear cut.

The commentators, in real time, were very surprised. It is another matter that any decision against the KKR is fair  ;D
